AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #547

Okay, not that anyone cares anymore because what's done is done, but I think I know why they did what they did to Spider-Man and I'm not sure it was mentioned. The WB is working on a new Spider-Man animated series, and if you know one thing about animated series, is that they do similar things in the comic books to draw back readers.
Case in point, when the Teen Titans cartoon came out, all of a sudden the original Teen Titans were back together again in the comics. When the original Justice League (before unlimited) animated series came out, all of a sudden John Stewart was back on JLA. They even came out with JLA Classified which featured a similar team as the cartoon. Even the Spider-Man 3 movie coincided with the return of Spider-Man's black costume in the comics.
So I'm saying all of this to say that they did this to not only coincide with the animated series coming out soon, but to be close to the movies to draw in readership. But in the meantime, they pretty much said "fuck the regulars"...I mean, we've all seen some outlandish shit up in these comics, but this has to be one of the most stupidest things they've done. I'm old enough to actually OWN the issue where Peter and Mary Jane get married and to have the last 20 years wiped out like that is stupid.
I wonder if Peter and Mary Jane get married in Spider-Man 4 if they work that back into the comic some kind of way? All of a sudden, everything rushes back to him and Aunt May ends up dead? That's the only way they can get back the regulars, but we're not where the money is at, the money is with the new readers.
Enough of my rant, as always, thanks Linker and everyone for all of the hookups making this the best post ever on BGOL. But like someone else says, the nekkid bitches help a lot too...
