I hope you're right but they have too much of a strangle hold on communities.

Google Fiber put no dent in their behavior in Atlanta nor has ATT.

I hate Comcast.
They do have a stranglehold on a lot of places. Sometimes they are the only show in town. They are terrible.

I refuse to live in those areas. I despise Comcast from experience. Fuck Comcast!

Most providers have caps though....AT&T fiber doesn't but that shit ain't available everywhere.

It's a conspiracy because if they can't provide tv service they gone make sure that streaming has limits or additional costs

At least they dropped the price for true unlimited. It used to be an additional $40.

When I had them and had to start paying that I just started downloading shit just because. I went from 1.3 - 1.4TB a month to 20+ I think the last month I was damm near 30tb

What fuck are you downloading? Everything at NASA for the past 50 years? 30TB? Wtf?

Not exactly true... everywhere google Fiber showed up, the big players all started boosting their speeds and offering gigabit. It was like magic . In some areas, ATT even matched the $70 price. Gigabit speeds in most areas only became normal AFTER Fiber began its rollout

You're right about that.

My speeds increased but Google Fibers footprint is like a toddlers in metro Atlanta.

I'm a data hoarder, or at least became one in the process. As I said, I found things to update or install. I already had an unraid server where I had years of media and files I had downloaded, so I decided to update and revamp my archive. If I had SD versions, I found HD or UHD versions, completed seasons, downloaded complete collections, and such. Comcast also counts upload in the bandwidth total so it really wasn't hard.

I'm on Google Fiber now, and there are still occasions when I can get it that high, but with Comcast I made it a point to work the shit out of their network to recoup the $120 I was paying. I'm sure they were glad to see me go.

they (Comcast)signed franchise agreements with cities and a LOT of small towns that only allowed them to be the internet provider.. In exchange they would give fiber networks and TV services to the cities literally at cost. Those agreement lasted to 20 years plus in most cases.

They made is nearly impossible for anyone else to provide services. A lot of those agreements are finally expiring which is why you are slowly seeing people like ATT build their own fiber networks.

You’re a damn lie. That’s not even close to “average”

yeah the average household only uses about 250GB of data. In the previous 12 months the most I've used is 700gb.

Would love to ditch Comcast, but the only competition is AT&T and they're just as bad.

Oh, You wanna play this game.
Start by telling us what the "average" household is?

UPDATE: I reread your post and it was in reference to the previous posters premise...HOLD FIRE!!

ATTs gigabit plan is unlimited and is constantly available for $50/month... At least in my area. I've had my mom on it for 3 years so far... I threaten to move to Comcast every time the promo is about to end and they give me another year at $50. Includes HBO max for free too.

The gigabit is symmetrical too, unlike Comcast

Mine has been $80. No caps.

I might pull the trick to get it down to $50.

I left Comcast 3/4 years ago, and it was simple. Can they give me gig service for $80 or at least a faster tier. They refused, I left.

Fuck Comcast/Xfinity
