Marbella is good area and you get a decent local experience, but if you want a real local experience and your Spanish is decent the street called Carrera 17 near Urbanización de Española has Airbnbs that are solid and visitor friendly. Just be on you P’s and Q’s as you will be entering the barrios, but the food their is better and cheaper than what they are pushing in the walled city.

Marbella is good area and you get a decent local experience, but if you want a real local experience and your Spanish is decent the street called Carrera 17 near Urbanización de Española has Airbnbs that are solid and visitor friendly. Just be on you P’s and Q’s as you will be entering the barrios, but the food their is better and cheaper than what they are pushing in the walled city.

My Spanish is pretty decent. My two things:

1. The vendors are fuckin annoying on the public beaches.

2. I’d prefer to NOT stay in the “hood.” I guess I’m looking for a Panama type situation where I can stay in some nice shit, bring a chick or two through, and they gotta check in with a cedula or passport.
