College Heads: Does this pic about sum it up???

Man, that's some rough shit!:smh: Really makes me thankful I didn't have to take out loans. My mother was a school teacher, so I got a 25% discount on tuition through State schools. My father worked for GM and they would pay 50% of my tuition and up to $1,000 on books. Whatever was left on tuition I would pay for myself.

Guess you don't know how good you had it until you see stuff like this...

College should be free to those who are qualified. The student loan industry is a scam.

I know it's only those on BGOL who pay for their school up front or pay it off immediately after cause everyone's a baller.

But there's a vast majority of eager students, lured into the college "system" to get a (half the time) worthless piece of paper in exchange for a debt they will be paying off for the next 30 years.

College loan debt is the new mortgage that is used by the govt to keep us enslaved to that debt for this newer generation.

We used to be able to have a career, have a home and live that dream. Now college graduates, can't even think of buying a home, they are indebted to the govt for 30-40 years with loans over 100-150k. So where has that home/mortgage dream switched from? From banks to the govt.

But I know this isn't the case for those on BGOL, but it seems to be the case for millions of those in America being led into a system of debt set up for failure. If you really take the time to find out how they are over charging all for loans and scamming people with no explanation.

I've seen it too many times with friends and family. Take an hour, watch the vid I posted earlier. But if this don't apply to the BGOL ballers, then ignore it. But it's the biggest scam going on right now and many don't even see it. KRS just said the same thing in the other vid a few posts up.

In regards to the pictures....that shit looks like a ad for a site. So i'm sure they could've very well exaggerated some.

I think it's "Spam advertisement" preying on people who are desperately looking for financial solutions or relief.
I checked out that site on her poster and it redirects you to another site where they post more testimonies and at the bottom of the page they are asking for donations.
My question is how are they asking people who are already struggling with money issues to donate money to an org. that is supposedly there to help them with or provide remedies to their dire situations?

This new wave of For-Profit "Universities" (ie University of Phoenix, Devry, etc) are targeting clueless people with the promise of a degree from there school will lead them to financial freedom while driving them into debt.

I have a coworker who has a brother that works on the admissions board for one of those organizations and during lunch one day he said his brother was going through a moral dilemma. Some of the people getting into these schools are simply NOT college material. Yet the school keeps pushing them through so they can qualify for loans and get paid. He said that even with a degree in hand their lack of professional skills in that field is going to get exposed quickly.

It's not even these new universities. If you aren't going to school for a profession or skill, many times that paper that you went to school for 4 years for, most aren't working anywhere remotely in the field they went to school for. Then some having to go back for some more college in a different field with more debt.

It's a shame today people working at minimal paying jobs like a McDonald's with college degrees.

just imagine what its like for an Ivy League school

I received some money to go to UPenn, but it was only 45K. We did the calculations and I still would have been in almost six figure debt at age 23. My parents were like "fuck that, pick a cheaper school and apply yourself more. They aren't teaching confidential information." I know I probably would have made some amazing connects, but there was no guarantee.

There's another sneaky tactic being used by colleges to lure students in.

This school was harassing my daughter to join. My wife's cousins both attended it in the past and their rates were significantly lower.

So the school sends you their pricing then tells you that you received scholarships amounting to X, Y and Z. So when you turn around and look at what they discount it to, it's like what the prices were years ago when my wife's cuz went there but a little more of course.

So they offer nothing special but telling you you got scholarships. But only here at our college.

Thsts nothing more than Macy's putting out a coupon for Polo shirts, over pricing the shirt, then give you a coupon for 30% off and it's the same price as any other store, but you feel good cause you got it at a discount.

I smelled BS with that scholarship they offered and was right when I talked to the cuz about what they paid. You're talking like a 10k difference per semester.
