Folks need to see this shit. It's hard core reality. This is the aftermath of the destruction our community empowerment groups. A destruction spearheaded and executed by the US government. People can watch violence on TV and in the movies but this is some real life shit that needs to be address on all levels.

One thing I notice about some black people is that I don't like to see the reality of what going on in our communities...smh..Lexx Diamond, been a cop for a year and the shit I seen is unbelievable. I try to talk to black people about the things I see and its like I'm lying to them? My grandfather always said this before he pass away, "Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it's not happening" I guess seeing these images of us is something a lot folks is not really for, but its a everyday thing for me.

Chicago is a phenomenal city with a cultural history that built by miorities, but the glorifying catch phrase and claim to fame is Chi-Raq. Gangs are a problem in chicago, but why is it that in NY where the population is double has overcome the same violence from the 80's and 90's ?
There has been a social norm for Chicago to be a place where you can't walk outside at night fearlessly because it doesn't have the glitz and glamour of NY, I am surprised they aren't selling I survived Chicago shirts on every corner store. You are 100% wrong. Listen man, I'm not going back and forth with you, but I come from a very dangerous neighborhood and most of my friends growing up are dead or in prison. I didn't believe that a large number of black people live with both of their parents, until I moved to the DMV area, because where I'm from, 80% of my friends didn't have a father. I get it, looking at this makes you mad so why comment? I didn't make this thread for you. I make this thread for people that are sick of the violence, want to vent, stories and solutions. I wish you was right about me never experiencing gang violence on frequent basis until I got this job, but where I'm from is the reason why I became a cop (Bronx/ Newburg NY ...look it up). When a kid I mentor was killed right in front of my uncle's house is when I realized that was enough and I wanted to help more young black men make better choices with their life. I could go on but why, believe what you you want.....

I don't know if it's because we fear the cops or we don't want these people to go to jail because the system is stacked against us, or they just don't trust the police to protect them - either way when people know that they are friends, cousins, Brothers, uncles, sons and daughters are the shooters and killers and thieves amongst us we should turn those assholes in and get them out of our community. We don't and allow the pollutants to get worse

For those that didnt know.....Chicago's violence only became a topic in the media when A) Obama became President. Whites and Repubs needed something to attack him with. And B) when White folks needed something to throw back in the faces of Black folks who started valuing Black peoples lives (e.g. BLM) .
The goal was never to help ease the violence in Chicago..the goal was to find something fucked up that they could pin on ALL BLACK PEOPLE. When you make useless threads like this youre doing nothing but cosigned the bs.

It's deeper than that. Destroying groups that are based off ideology isn't as simple as people are led to believe. They just get stronger. See sand cac 'terrorism.'
Chicago hasn't really been dangerous since the late 80 to mid 90's. Think about it when did Chicago get a violet rep in the national media... right about 2008 ( Who got elected that year??? the best way defame someone is to demonize the place from which they came)... and since then every year Chicago has been painted as a dangerous place. Truth be told the murder rate in Chicago was higher in the 90's. I think this year's increase in the rate of murders is the direct result of the last 8 yrs of propaganda about Chicago being a violet place. The kids are now trying to live up to the rep.
I'm amazed at how many people overlook this.
