just got a message that one of yall was cheating last tournament:

I love watching his videos never a dull moment....
Guess with mafamatiks getting the boot, it will be hard to get 5....I will kick it off at 10.30 CST if not other takers
I don't understand, why we can't get more people to participate. I understand people have better things to do but folks come in this thread asking to play but never participate in the tournaments...
I think it's mostly two reasons:
1) Some people know the basics and want to get better, but just don't think they're ready for our tournaments. Honestly, these chess threads give off a trial by fire vibe and not a way to learn/improve. You post cool chess videos, but we don't discuss openings/defenses or analyze our games at all. Hell, we've been playing in these tournaments for years and still don't practice basic chess etiquette like "good game" after a long match. To be fair, it has become less common but if you play the same people over and over, I'd expect folks to be a little more engaging.
2) People don't want to run the risk of getting embarrassed in under ten moves or whatever. Maybe they think the BGOL chess wolves would never let them live it down...
