used to be a kg fan when he was actually putting in work and was really killing the league 20, 10 and 5 every year from the 4 position.
he's more than a complimentary player though, he was never losing in minnesota, he had them on his back all those years, it was paul and allen who were losing, they made that move cause paul was going to be out of there.

perkins can't do the shit oakley or any of them did he'd be out of the league so that's not a fair assessment. perkins does need to work on his fucking game, he still has no post game and though he lost weight isn't really quicker laterally and has no lift on his legs. he's let ibaka come into the nba, learn how to play basketball and is now actually better than him. ibaka has better defense can rebound with anyone and even developed at 15 footer.

Dont agree with Oak. Back in HIS day, u could get away with hard fouls. U could even get into scuffles and the bench's would clear but u were usually only thrown out of that game...sometimes. Now the rules have changed. Bball is not hockey. Fighting along with hard fouls are frowned upon and could cost you and your team (see Suns/Spurs playoff series).

Does Garnett pop off at people...yes but I always thought it was to get into the opponents head. Garnett dont fight and for any opposing player to take serious his "trash talking" then he's already won the mental battle.

As far as "toughness" goes there are different kinds: Mental and physical. Oak had a little of the first, alot of the second

Charles Oakley was notoriously known as one of the toughest guys in the NBA during his playing days. He was an enforcer, a guy who backed up his teammates with elbows, and someone who occasionally got a bit rough in the lane with fouls.
But last year Oakley was on the receiving end of some rather overzealous security guards in Las Vegas–at least, that’s his side of the story.

Oakley was an invited guest at Aria’s VIP pool area May 28 when he left the area, the complaint says, but security officers and staff prevented him from re-entering.

After a “verbal altercation” with officers, Oakley attempted to return to his room when he was “assaulted” by them in a secluded area of the resort, the lawsuit alleges.

The complaint contends the officers wrestled Oakley to the ground and punched and handcuffed him, and that he was taken to the hospital with injuries to his neck, back, head and wrist, “all or some of which may be permanent and disabling.”

The complaint alleges negligence, assault, assault with excessive force, battery, false imprisonment and defamation. It seeks unspecified general, special and punitive damages.

The lawsuit will more than likely be settled out of court as MGM would rather stay as far away from the bad publicity. And while I’m sure Oakley was banged up physically, it was his ego that look the largest hit. However, in the end, I’m sure a few hundred thousand will ease the pain away.
