Got the CCENT and 3 more Microsoft exams to earn the MCITP cert, then I graduate from Western Governors University next year!
this is absolutely correct - 3 years. I actually got 5 years out of my A+ - got it in 2009, back when it was certified-for-life but they changed my certification in January and now my A+, Net+, Project+ and Security+ all expire in 2015.
does anyone have this book
i would appreciate the upload
thanks in advance

I took & passed the A+ 701 exam last week. I just want to give a heads up... dont over study on the technicalities. Focus alot on printers and troubleshooting, overall troubleshooting process, safety, cabling [types, connectors, lenghts] and scenarios (there were alot of questions that were scenario based). Im not saying to only study these things, but I spent WAY too much time trying to remember the pin counts for particular sockets and slots and shit.. I spent about 2 weeks cramming and I really could have done so in a weekend if I focused on the right things. Good luck. It was a little more difficult that I thought it would be but it wasnt too bad. Oh, and Windows 7 IS covered on the exam. Different study materials give mixed information about that.
congrats bro..what you got your sights set on next?I took & passed the A+ 701 exam last week. I just want to give a heads up... dont over study on the technicalities. 15 Top Paying IT Certifications for 2012
Just got my CCENT last month and plan on taking the CCNA within a few weeks. I'm using Wendell's cert guide, Boson, Measure up, and 9tut. Can you recall anything that helped you prepare that really stood out? Thanks.
I took the CCNA test twice. 9tut helped me pass that second time, they give you some of the exact questions and simulations from the test. And make sure you get those sims down and be able to do them quickly. The first time I took it, I ran out of time

ever looked into noSQL databases, mongodb, hadoop etc?
I subscribe to RSS feeds from eWeek.com and some database blogs so I've read briefly about them but have never looked in depth. noSQL is high on my research list because I have some mySQL tasks to do at work and read noSQL might help with that. If I remember correctly, hadoop is used to store non-relational data in a different format than XML. Usually we're talking XML when discussing non-relational data. Again, I'm just trying to remember the little I know from articles I've read briefly. I think Hadoop was developed to store data like social media, etc. You working with any of those technologies?
I forgot to say congrats!!!
Yes, I did some redis and cassandra last year.
Now I'm doing some mongodb for it's spatial geolocation for a location platform I'm working on.
So a mobile app uses the user location and uploads data to a mongodb backend hosted on Amazon AWS.
Ideally I want to use couchbase DB but that is a future upgrade as it makes good use of client side DB storage especially for non-connected states such as mobile.

Thanks!
I'm behind schedule but I have a couple of more certs I plan to get this year.
I've heard of mongodb but had to look up couchbase. My plan is to get into mobile after I finish the PMP. I do so much project management there's no reason for me not to do it. I ordered the book you used to study for yours and plan to complete my application this month.
How do you like Amazon AWS? I've heard good things about them so I'm thinking about using their service when I create some apps and websites.
Just my CCNA and CCNA Security this past week. Thinking about get a CCNA Voice Cert next.
A+ so far.
Should be taking the test for the Microsoft Networking Fundamentals cert soon. Also going to take two classes in the summer, working towards getting my CCNA cert. How about yourself?
