Ceramic Coating on Cars

Do any of you car guys have it in your cars? I got it on mine 3 months ago and it’s amazing. I’ve only had ti wash the car twice since then. It’s so dramatic to watch the water just roll off when you're washing it. Your car stays cleaner longer.

I have a bottle, but just need to do a clay and paint correction before I apply it.

I've seen cars w/ ceramic coats and the shine is incredible!!!

Watch that clay my guy I clayed my car and ended up putting scratches on it totally fucked me up. I didn’t have those fine scratches before using the clay bar so whatever it pulled out I was putting it right back on worse.

I had it done when I first got my car.

Got it done at a shop..got the full ceramic treatment..ceramic window tint and the 3 year ceramic coating...

Car shined like a new penny all I had to do was spray it off with water...

Yeah my SUV is black and it’s amazing how it stays clean. I now wash it myself because I can’t let these car wash shops do any kind of job on it. It’s good exercise lol.

You either pressed too hard or used a aggressive clay. Next time use a clay mitt, if you are gentle it wont cause any marring.

I wanna get this for the next ride I buy. Just wanna be able to wash my car with little to no effort thanks to the ceramic coating.

That’s exactly what it does. And you barely have to dry the car with cloth. If you have a leaf blower, that’s all you need.

I paid this mobile Brazilian Detailer to do it and he did a perfect job for half the price of these other shops in my garage. It took him 8 hours.

Do it to all my cars when I get them. Trade every three years or so, to body and glass, so get the 3yr coating.
Really is a game changer. Just have to rinse the dirt off every other week. Water rolls of the glass during rainstorms, like RainX does. Would highly recommend, especially on high end cars or classic. Makes that shit pop, especially on black. Reflections are immaculate

If you have a bottle, you ain't got shit.

Proper ceramic is an epoxy compound that requires 2 chemicals to be mixed together. If you go to a proper shop it's going to take at least 60-90 minutes for a thin coat because they have to do it one section at a time before the compound dries out.

There are different thicknesses - and times that they last - so any decent shop will have some sheets to show you that. The thickest is going to take 3 days to apply and dry and lasts maybe 2 years or more.

They also have dry ice treatments and a bunch of other stuff.

Also, know that the thinnest lasts maybe 6 months and should be hand-washed.

But bottom line - those spray-on things aren't worth the money. Go to a detail shop and get the real thing.

Got PPF film on the front end of my ride, paint correction with a ceramic coating on all surfaces of the car. Love it, car even stays glossy when dirty. No swirls or scratches, paint still flawless.

Easy as fuck to clean I use Optimum No rinse wash when I touch up the car. Clean a panel then hit with a microfiber towel. During a normal was hit it with a foam cannon, rinse them dry with a leave blower.

Yes, the detailer will get all fine scratches out before applying it. You need to get a skilled person though.
I have some small paint chips in the hood and front fairing thinking about getting the paint filler and then doing a ceramic coat.

Agree w/ all this.

Just be aware that a professional shop will cost you big money for a detail, paint correction, and ceramic coat treatment.
$2,000 to $3,000 at most places, but your car will be protected for 2 years or more.

IMO, just buy all the shit you need for $300-$400 and do it yourself!

Watch a bunch of Youtube videos and get after it!!
