CBS - Supergirl Trailer

Dah fuck... you can just create world killers... now

And why would Mon-El wait until she completed the statute..

I’m a fucking legionnaire and I couldn’t stop a group of humans.

Yeah this was the first Whomp Whomp episode of Supergirl.

Well it's a single whoomp.

I appreciate the "woke" effort...

Each show had one

They did not have to.

Their intention was good

Lol Supergirl and these real world issue episodes are hilarious

Tonight it’s Gun Violence

Side note this episode is extra meh so far...

So how the fuck are you going to be taking on all of these gawd damn threats without lethal weapons

Oh shit Ms Tessmaker is working with a Luther.

The heck .... how the hell did she just steal a ship.

Also if they are in earth now... do you need worldkillers

ok few things im sick off on these shows...

im sick of the whole don't kill shit... it gets in the way of good story telling... they don't have to keep harping on it we get it!

and why is supergirl so nerfed... she absolutely can breathe in space don't need a ship to get around.

and if she went back to home to argo why didn't it kill her.. its basically a big hunk of kryptonite

I hear you on the killing...this show and the flash are nerfed so they spend 30mins each episode dealing with relationship and real world drama instead of focusing on super/meta problems. Supergirl is the worst, its great when shes doing Supergirl stuff but the rest is just BS.

But to your other point I don't think you breathe in space...I think you mean that Supergirl doesnt need to breathe or can hold her breath for a very long time...

‘Supergirl’ Adds Nicole Maines As Transgender Superhero; April Parker Jones & David Ajala Also Cast – Comic-Con

TV’s first transgender superhero is coming to the CW’s Supergirl. Transgender activist Nicole Maines (Royal Pains, The Trans List) is set as a regular in the upcoming fourth season as Nia Nal, aka Dreamer. In addition, April Parker Jones(Jericho, The Last Ship) has been cast as series regular Colonel Haley and David Ajala (Dr. Who, Nightflyers) will recur as Manchester Black. The castings were announced during the Supergirl panel Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con.

Maines’ Nia Nal is the newest addition to the CatCo reporting team. A soulful young transgender woman with a fierce drive to protect others, Nia’s journey this season means fulfilling her destiny as the superhero Dreamer (much like Kara came into her own as Supergirl).

Jones’ Colonel Haley is a hardline career military woman who lives and dies by the orders of her commanding officers. Dedicated to her country, she always acts in its best interest — even if it’s not her own.

Based on the iconic DC character, Manchester Black (Ajala) is the type of guy who brings a knife to a gunfight and still walks away the winner. With a dark past, he easily deflects the brutality of his mission with his charm and sense of humor.

The three join previously announced new series regulars Jesse Rath (who plays the Legion of Super Heroes’ Brainiac-5) and Sam Witwer (who will play Agent Liberty).

Based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller. Supergirl is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Supergirl returns for its fourth season on October 14 in its new Sunday 8/7c time period on The CW.

Supergirl Casts Smallville Alum Sam Witwer As Agent Liberty

The CW series Supergirl has cast Smallville alum Sam Witwer as Agent Liberty. From one Superman world to the next, Witwer becomes the latest to join the CW's ever-growing DC Universe. With a solid previous performance behind him, there's little doubt he's up for the challenge.

Witwer is no stranger to the Superman world, having played killing machine Doomsday on Smallville in season 8. A Jekyll and Hyde like villain, Doomsday faced off against Clark Kent, succumbing to the superhero after his split personalities were separated. Ironically, Witwer's previous credits also include a guest starring role on Once Upon a Time, where he played the real literary Jekyll and Hyde. His other roles include Star Wars: Rebels, Being Human and The Mist. While many of his acting credits may appear to be short guest stints, his time immersed in the Superman universe through Smallville makes him uniquely equipped to take on this latest character.

According to EW, when Supergirl returns this fall to the CW for season 4, Witwer will be taking on the role of Agent Liberty. A vicious and fearsome leader, Agent Liberty leads the hate group Children of Liberty, an organization that believes in human superiority. He's "a brilliant orator in the guise of a family man," the show's producers have said, eluding to his impressive power of persuasion. This is a man who can convince just about anyone to support his cause. With Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the DEO fighting for the integration of aliens among the populace, the introduction of Agent Liberty is sure to shake things up.

Witwer is not the first alumni of Smallville to be cast in Supergirl. Erica Durance - who portrayed Lois Lane - has appeared several times during the series as Kara's mother, Alura Zor-El. Laura Vandervoort - who played Supergirl herself on Smallville - also guest starred during season 1 as Indigo. One wonders if Smallville lead Tom Welling might ever be persuaded to make an appearance, now that he's seemingly back in the Hollywood mix after playing Marcus Pierce on Lucifer.

Season 3 of Supergirl ended with the departure of two series regulars, Chris Wood and Jeremy Jordon, although Jordon is expected to occasionally reappear in later episodes of the new season. That wasn't the only recent casting shake-up either. Jesse Rath, who stars as Brainiac 5, has been bumped up to series regular. The announcement of Witwer joining the cast of Supergirl comes right on the eve of San Diego Comic-Con 2018. With the Supergirl panel taking place Saturday, July 21, there are sure to be more exciting updates and announcements on the upcoming season 4 very soon.

Arrowverse Crossover to Feature Superman and Introduce Lois Lane — Who Should Play the Iconic Role?

This December’s Arrowverse crossover gets more super by the minute.

The three-night, Legends-less crossover event — kicking off Sunday, Dec. 9, with a special airing of The Flash — will not only introduce viewers to Kate Kane aka Gotham vigilante Batwoman (played by Orange Is the New Black‘s Ruby Rose), but also return Superman (played by Supergirl‘s Tyler Hoechlin) to the heroic fray as well.

Kara’s cousin/James Olsen’s BFF won’t be going stag this time around, however. Nope, Supes’ No. 1 gal, intrepid reporter Lois Lane, is coming along for the ride. Get to sharing your dream casting for the role in the Comments below!

“We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Lois Lane to the Arrowverse,” Supergirlexecutive producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner said in a statement. “This dogged, determined and brave reporter will make for a strong partner to Superman and amazing addition to our universe of DC characters.”

Lois Lane’s most notable live-action portrayers have included Teri Hatcher, Erica Durance, and, of course, the late Margot Kidder.

Hoechlin to date has portrayed Clark Kent/Superman four times on Supergirl, most recently appearing in the CW series’ Season 2 finale.

Once again, this year’s Arrowvese crossover event will air Sunday, Dec. 9 through Tuesday, Dec. 11, comprised of the ninth episodes of The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl‘s new seasons.

How DC's Supergirl Movie Can Stand Apart From The CW's TV Show

The DCEU was thrown for a real loop last week when it was reported that Henry Cavill was out as Superman and that Warner Bros. was looking at ways to replace the actor. If the news is real, it's just one more challenge for the typically down-on-its-luck superhero universe. Warner Bros. usually has no less than 100 movies based on DC Comics characters in development at any given point (we're not great with math, but you get it), and one of those projects is Supergirl, which is supposedly seen as a potential substitute for Superman. There's already a successful version of Supergirl that exists as a TV show over on The CW, so the movie version would have to be different in a few ways.

The Supergirl project (which is not being directed by Reed Morano) is already off to a solid start. The movie is supposedly a period piece set in the 1970s, distancing itself from any kind of continuity with the present day DCEU. It's also being reported that the main villain of the movie will be Brainiac, which makes sense given the characters ties to Krypton's destruction. While nothing about the Supergirl movie is confirmed, setting it in the past is a great way to separate it from the TV series. That show may take place in another dimension from the rest of the Arrowverse, but it's still firmly in the present. By making it take place in the seventies, it's already got a different feel to it.

One of the biggest ways that the movie can split from the show is by having Supergirl stand apart from Superman. The TV show's Kara Danvers is her own person who has stepped out of the shadow of her famous cousin, but Superman is still a heavy presence on the show, at least in spirit. For example, Supergirl was given her own Lex Luthor in the form of Maxwell Lord. Very much a Luthor wannabe, the series ditched him for an actual Luthor, Lex's sister Lena. The twist is that Lena is a very close ally of Supergirl, flipping the typical formula, but it still felt the need to have a Luthor because "Super" was in the title.

The villains don't stop at the Luthor's either. Superman's rogue's gallery is handed to Kara, who fights baddies like Parasite, Metallo, Cyborg Superman, Livewire, Toyman, and Mr. Myxlplyx. In the comics, Supergirl really doesn't have many good villains, so I can hardly blame the show for borrowing the Man of Steel's, but the DC universe is a big place, and the movie can find plenty of non-Superman villains for Supergirl to fight. As stated before, the movie might include Brainiac, one of Superman's greatest enemies, but that makes sense because he has a history with Kara. Still, Brainiac is a big enough bad that the studio might want to save him for later.

The Superman-ness doesn't stop with just the villains. Supergirl's personal life is eerily similar to Clark Kent's. Part of this is by design, the age-old, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it.' Kara Danvers is a mild-mannered woman in glasses who no one expects could ever be the great Supergirl. On the show, she even works at a media company as a journalist, the same profession as Clark Kent. If the movie dives into her personal life, then it should avoid giving her the same job as Superman. The characters already have enough in common as it is.

Being different enough from the show is essential, but that's not to say that the show doesn't have merit. It's actually quite solid and has a great central character. Supergirl is a source of hope and optimism when things look bleak and is a positive influence on those around her. The show also isn't afraid to dive into social issues, such as using aliens as not-so-subtle metaphors for immigrants. Plus, it can get very comic book-y like having an ex-boyfriend getting sent to the future, and then coming back with a wife. These are all aspects that would be great for a movie to emulate, but it can't just copy and paste them.

There's a possibility that the Supergirl movie doesn't even happen but with Wonder Woman as the DCEU's most successful movie and a potential future without Superman, Supergirl is a logical and excellent choice to add to the shared universe. There's nothing wrong with adding another female hero to the mix and Supergirl on the CW has laid out a lot of groundwork already for getting audiences to like the character. We can only hope that a movie takes what everyone loves about the show, but makes it fresh enough that it offers a new experience in the movie theater. Otherwise, what's the point?

Finally watched the last two episodes.

What the fuck did I watch

That shit was hella rushed.

How are you going to bitch about killing reign when you going back in time to just end up killing her a different way.

Anyone watch the season premiere on Sunday? I like the direction they're going with Kara fighting an entire movement instead of just one big bad. The political allegories are a mirror of what's going on in the real world.

I like how Jon checked her White "Alien" privilege.

Notice supergirl says I am loyal to this country no matter who is running it?

If all these cw shows gonna have this much modern political theme
