CBS - Supergirl Trailer

Now That is how who should execute a super hero fight, incredible

Choreography, effects, stunt actors, production value...

These tv show's going the extra mile and it's very much appreciated.

So basically they going to give the daughter to supergirl's sister to adopt when all is said and done huh?

Sidebar: the reason they broke up that couple was dumb as f*ck.

The actress playing Maggie told them that she wanted to explore other opportunities... Supergirl is shot on Canada. Floriana Lima is Cali girl, who is currently dating Casey Affleck (lucky bastard). She probably wanted to be closer to the states.

they didn’t have a choice...

But they didn’t kill her off and there are 53 versions of her... so she can always come back.

I really liked her character.

Like I said before

They need to let Lena use her real voice.

Lol yeah she is struggling with that American Accent...

Side note... I really hope that don’t make her evil. (Unless it’s through brainwashing or if another Earth’s Lena took her place... which would be fucking awesome)

It’s crazy how the arrowverse has so many ways to do things now. The potential on these shows is limitless.

To wrap this up.... after watching the trailer yesterday.

I’m extremely worried about Black Lighting.

It does not look right at all.

I really liked her character.

They had a choice to write a better exit, they tried to get deep with it but it was contrived. You could see they had big things planned hell probably would have a 3 way wedding during Crisis X.

They could have easily made them fight over her dad hatred of the marriage and they break up. Or have her cheat since she was notorious for that. I just thought the baby thing was contrived.

She is a real good actress and solidified that character quickly with little screen time

I wish her luck with Casey...

Cause trust that sexual harassment case is coming soon yo a theatre near you.

i was worried from the start

not because i don't think it will be good.... i think it will be good

I worried it won't be great.. because it will have to be awesome to be given a fair chance

we will watch it but will everyone else

Exactly... I think it’s just going to be OK.

And the problem with that is there a lot of superhero shows out now that are better then ok.

I really wish that he was part of the arrowverse and they introduced his character in a supergirl episode. Give the audience a chance to see who this guy is... because no one has really cared pabout black lightening since what Superfriends.

They could have made him out to be the Supergirls Earth’s version of Arrow. He could have been that dark character there.

The way it is now... I feel it will eventually settle into a groove but those first couple episodes are going to cover a lot of ground and I don’t know if the audience will stick.

yep i'm pulling for the show

but i'd much rather have a teenage show with static shock .....packed with comedy

The other problem is that it’s coming January 18 and their are already a shit ton of Superhero shows on air at that time... plus you got The 100 and Izombie coming back... that’s a lot of tv.

Yeah this Jimmy works better but I still feel like his character isn’t necessary right now. Kara hardly does Shit for the Katco these days. I don’t even know how she has a job. Lol

Yeah they forcing it

But I understand it can really help storytelling because it's a resource a connection to Clark Kent and can explain away alot of stuff and simplify exposition

I liked Jimmy and Wynn being friends.
I wanted Jimmy to be a black version of Morgan Edge.

Or a real investigative reporter photographer with like a catco internet series chasing down stories aND then maybe a Web series.

He can be much more. But right now they got a FULL plate.

Sidebar...

Disney could make millions on a kid series with a young supergirl and tara going on adventures like a new smallville.

Word to fat men on batman.

It's going to get buried...

And when is it going to air?

After what?

They need a STRONG lead in.

And the NEEDED to go connected to the Arrowverse.

And remember the showrunner just got fired.

The setting this up to fail.

Brothers

Dont forget the added pressure of Black Panther and Luke Cage.

I do like the lightning contacts.

Maybe theyll bring BL on as part of the next big crossover(since we all know that the Big 3 on television wont happen anytime soon)

fam...I wanted to THAT AND a podcast!!!

Is Front Line still in the comics section..? add him in as well

She is actually Irish...

Ok this is impressive...

Supergirl’s Katie McGrath is Tumblr’s Most Popular Actress in 2017

Katie McGrath, who plays Lena Luthor on The CW DC Comics TV show Supergirl, was dubbed Tumblr‘s most popular actress in 2017, with Diana Prince herself – aka. Wonder Woman and Justice League movie star Gal Gadot – landing in second place. The actress rundown is part of Tumblr‘s Fandometrics, which calculates its end of year lists based on the number of Tumblr entries that were created with specific tags (in this case, the names of actresses), in addition to the number of times a tag was searched, how often a post with that tag is reblogged, and the number of likes that said post earned. Those numbers are then run through Tumblr‘s weighting system to calculate the final results.

Supergirl, which is part of the shared DC superhero TV universe colloquially known as the Arrowverse, started its run on CBS in 2015 before moving over to The CW – the home network for the Arrowverse – for its second season. McGrath made her debut as the Lena Luthor character (who, yes, is the sister of the infamous Lex Luthor) in season 2 and has since been upgraded to series regular in season 3. The character has generally been considered one of the Arrowverse’s more popular supporting players since her introduction and this new survey by Tumblr only lends further credence to that idea.

According to Tumblr‘s Fandometrics, Katie McGrath was the site’s most popular actress in 2017, thanks to her role as the complicated Miss Luthor. Gal Gadot, as mentioned earlier, landed the second place spot for her ongoing role as Wonder Woman, with Emma Watson – fresh off her role as Belle in Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast – landing in third place. The late Carrie Fisher, who make her final onscreen appearance in Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi this month, came in fourth place, followed by Lili Reinhart (who plays Betty Cooper on The CW’s Archie Comics TV show Riverdale) in fifth.

McGrath’s Lena Luthor and Melissa Benoist’s Kara Danvers/Supergirl also ranked among Tumblr‘s most popular “ships”, with the fan-backed romantic pairing of Lena and Kara being typically referred to as “Supercorp”. The most popular “ships” of 2017 also included couples from the Netflix animated series Voltron: Legendary Defender (namely, Keith and Lance, aka. “Klance”) and the Syfy western/fantasy TV series Wynonna Earp (namely, Waverly Earp and Nicole Haught, aka. “Wayhaut”), as detailed in an article by the NYT. McGrath, as the writeup notes, seems quite comfortable with the “Supercorp” fandom and even offered TVLine the following on the subject, earlier this year:

“It doesn’t bother me at all. It’s not just what we put into it. It’s what the writers put in, and the directors, and then what people can take from it.”

Out of the four Arrowverse TV shows (including, Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow), Supergirl arguably features the most three-dimensional and best developed female characters in both leading and supporting roles. Lena in particular, and McGrath’s performance as the character, has often been singled out as one of the more interesting and multifaceted supporting players in the show’s ensemble, and the character’s popularity on social media sites like Tumblr is a testament to that. The character has clearly garnered even more fans in Supergirl season 3, where she has thus far played a more prominent role in the show’s overarching storyline and even been presented with a potential love interest in Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks). That’s not bad at all for someone who has to deal with the baggage of Superman’s greatest nemesis being a member of her own family.
