Well he said he read a lot prior to the whole Hidden Colors thing. His best selling book is based off other books written by pimps and players. But the switch was bound to happen, imho. Mainly because he used to talk about that type of stuff here and there back in the days.
Plus, it was a perfect time to talk about Black History. Race has been a hot topic in the streets ever since Barack got elected. Hollywood has been pumping out bs race related movies left and right over the last 5 years. Why not exploit a hot trend and get your piece of the pie? As long if it aint no bs....its all good with me!!
I dont know if this was the case with him, but sometimes when u go from being a poor Black Man in the hood to having 6 figures in the bank....start doing a little traveling.... it kinda opens your mind.
A lot of times when youre in the hood you view things like the rest of the hood niggas; White folks are great, Black are worthless lazy niggaz, blah blah blah. But once you make a little money, start traveling, try to build your brand in a white dominated market....etc etc...either you'll A) have an epiphany via witnessing all the racist bs & then choose the challenge the bs or B) you'll stay blind to the fact and try to assimilate.
Not saying thats the case with him....but it is for some. I didnt get a full understanding of racism in America until I got out the hood and started working with and sharing hotel rooms with White folks while on the road. Mofos really show their true colors when youre the only Black in a crowd full of whites. Sometimes the bs makes u angry and bitter..but in a good way.
Btw......For those that say Tariq is taking in all the cash for himself.....consider the Black folks that he's employed. Especially all the Black folks for that terrible Horror movie. No matter how small....someone doing something is 10000x better than some nigga whining and doing nothing.

I heard about hidden colors, then saw it, and immediately ordered all three for the family to watch....
THIS IS GOING INTO THE BLACK CONSCIOUNESS LIBRARY I AM BUILDING FOR THE FAM.....Nothing that was said in HC1 2 or 3 was new to me. I been studying history all over the world but it was exceptional to see someone put it together the he did. best money I spent on dvds to date.
