It's just the simple fact that people don't want to admit they were wrong. So instead you have this large group of people who thought James would never live up to the hype (his High School games getting shown on ESPN when he was only 18) + the people who thought he didn't have what it takes to win a championship + the people pissed off by "the decision" who would basically rather sit on their hands for the last two years than admit that James has earned his way into all time greatness discussions.
