In June, I'm planning on buying my next car. I'm going high horsepower muscle/sport car.

My mind was all set for the wide body hellcat, however, I found a Ford dealer that makes custom Roush builds down in Katy, Texas. Their builds start at around $40k. So basically, you can get a full stage 3, with everything from a 10 speed auto, to 305 tires in the back, for around $55k-60k. A full $10k less than a widebody.

I have a family full of GM workers, so I could go zl1, vette route, but I really don't want to deal with them.

I'm not getting anything foreign, so lets not talk about the benz's, M# class today. I like them, but that's me.

So basically its Ford v Mopar right now.

P.S. I really want to know from actual customers of both brands. BTW, if anyone want the info for the Katy dealership, I'll post it as well.

I believe Ford only have the one muscle car in several trim options and that's the Mustang, with Mopar you have a choice of different models from the Challengers, Chargers to Durango's in SRT trim. Dig deeper and the HellCat is the next option and even deeper the Challenger Demon. Ford is releasing the Bullitt Mustang soon and it looks hot.

What's your previous high power or handling. You'll get both with the Mustang and good bit lighter, but that Hellcat engine has more potential to go high and easier. Also resale value with the Hellcat will probably be better. Aftermarket mods don't hold their value like that.

I saw a head to head between a challenger hellcat and 392.. only a sec difference in the 0-60

The ZL1 Camaro is fast but not as fast as the ZR1 Vette. But you dont want a Vette even though it has a top speed of 220 mph.

driven both the challenger SRT8 and the Camaro ZL1 manual two separate weekends

camaro had my vote

I'm assuming since you want a Muscle Car handling isn't a concern, because none of those car handles worth shit. Woodchuck just posted how unreliable those MOPARs are. Fords ain't much better but do you, bro.

To answer your question I guess I'd go with the pony. Stg 3 is just bolt-ons so that price sounds a little strange. If they're gonna build it, have them at least do the heads.

The real Ford you want is the GT...:rolleyes2:

Mopar has variety of body styles and is hot right now because of the Hellcat branding-
but all Chrysler/Fiat vehicles have shitty build quality and poor reliability ratings.

The new Ford Mustang has a really good chassis - and with the independent rear suspension it is a very impressive car
IMO its only a step (or generation) away from being a sports cars aiming at the Corvette

I have an Impala ss that's 400 hp right now.

I'm planning on getting in the youtube car game with one of these cars.

That new corvette is going to be a game changer. I've heard rumors that they will something like the NSX, but with more ambition.

The horsepower war is about to heat up.

The place that builds it is the Autonation in Katy, Texas.

I'd take the Mustang GT500R over anything Dodge has to offer

That flat plane crank V8 developed like a Ferrari V8?

Man listen

Go to http://hennesseyperformance.com/ in Sealy, they tune Hell Cats and Mustangs, the only limts is your money. They also have a track at the shop so you can test them out.

Hell no lol there are much better tuners in the Houston area than those guys unless you want them hold your car hostage for months and get overcharged for bs, Powerfab and J-rods Speed shop do great work, I only let J-road work or my ride and they have one of the best tuners in the nation working right across the parking lot.

When I get a chance I'll look at their products but the fact remains that Muscle Cars are straight line cars. If that's what you want get whichever one speaks to you. They can all be modded and no matter how much you mod them they'll never handle like a sports car.

The thing is that they are modding it with a full 60k warranty. The handling isn't an issue because I do drive for a living.

I checked their site and I don't see the mods you're talking about. Do you have a link?

Just out of curiosity, if you drive for a living wouldn't handling be the most important thing?
