Can you be too "black"???

i seen this 1 nigga crossin the street yesterday right in front of me as i was driving.. i didnt even actually see him (in the day time).. i just saw clothes walking,, until he opened up his mouth to say somethin to his boy --then i see white--.... is that too black? :dunno:

No, thats not too black, thats a result of the psychological effects from the willie lynch letter.......

Anyways, the woman that made the comment may have been attempting to be sarcastic with it...Some guys love sarcasm, I hate it, because I dont know how to take it. Since I dont know how to take it, I usually say something intended to be sarcastic back, but it ends up being offensive

How do you look African???

I couldn't even say anything, I was in such shock because I didn't really know what hse was getting at.

She came back later an apologized so she probably meant it in a mean way.

The funny thing is that she might be so right but doesn't know it if you consider what Kunta Kente represented before he became Toby.....

I hear you man, but ignorant is ignorant. If You came along and called her a bed warmer, would she understand that phrase and be so forgiving?

I think not, and for her to not understand, sit her down and make this naive woman watch Mandingo or Drum, both with Ken Norton, and make her think that being a bed warmer is funny - I doubt she would buy that...

It also seems to me that wants to see if you a simp... don't tolerate this bullshit and be nice, tell this lifelong spinster to bounce

Yo Bro!!!! I told you a few months ago you needed to lighten up a little!! But now that some silly azz Ho calls you out, your all ears and shit!!
WTF!!

Being black in america confession

Was introduced to a woman last week and without 10 mins after meeting her she went to the bar and while on her way there she asked me "Do you want something Kunta Kente?"

As an immigrant to this country, is that supposed to be some derogatory thing?

:confused::confused::confused:

That diss doesn't even make sense!!!
Kunte Kente was a slave captured from Africa
So any descendant of a slave is kunte Kente's son/daughter.
So what, is she calling you Daddy????:confused::confused::confused:

No, that is utter bullshit and should drop that person as an acquaintance for even saying that shit. Self hating bastards.

Peace,

How long have you lived in this country? You've never experienced this before, or heard from others who have?

Never, I have always been greated with respect from both white and black people especially during the first 10 mins.

Peace,

The weight and magnitude of "WORLDWIDE WHITE SUPREMACY" has made people mentally and physically sick.

I hate you had to be exposed to her sickness. But I hope you got up and walked off on her?

BROTHER, where are you from in the "MOTHERLAND"?

I'm from the Caribbean, same country Kwame Toure is from....
;)

I am a bit lost - these are genuinely things I am  about

So you are from the Haiti but really dark? :dunno:

And do you or do you not speak with an accent?

Do you mean too dark or too "Afro-centric"

peace

What makes 2009 different from any other year?

There's no time limit on ignorance, prejudice and socially engineered stupidity.
:smh::smh:

There I was thinking that the internet and google would be the death of ignorance.....

If I am not mistaken, all of the men in the pics except for that Cac or whatever he is IS of African descent or African.

what are yall trying to argue with me?

the fact that there are no people u will ever encounter that possibly could like they could be african

or people in the largest continent on earth could remotely look different

or are yall just fussing for the sake of fussing?

Nah. the internet and Google just make the ignorance more noticeable because even with the wealth of information easily available, people still choose to peddle and dwell in their states of willing ignorance. :smh::smh::smh:

You gotta laugh at the human condition though.

No one is arguing with you......

But at the same time there are people, black women especially who would start saying what they mixed with when it is so obvious that they overwhelmingly look black.....

So it not a moot issue

Tha whole thing is what is looking African????Their is no distinct African look. You only picked out that picture because that is what you are were taught Africans look like.If you asked a person that is from Africa or knows a lot about Africa they would disagree with you.I'm African but no one knows i'm African unless I tell them.

What do Africans and people of African descent in the diaspora all have in common?

What do Africans and people of African descent in the diaspora all have in common?

disenfranchisement from white people:dunno:

I read that.I'm trying to figure out why that one picture you picked was supposed to represent Africans from tha continent???Their are plenty of Blacks in America,South America and other places that look like that but were generations removed from Africa.

That shit is sad. I bet she is the type of womam that would say her family is mixed with Cherokee and some other BS.

i never intended it to represent all of africa...i dunno where u got that:confused:

it was example of someone who looks african

Die slow and painfully cracka.

Who yanked yo chain Bumba? Like an old wise man once said "If you throw a rock in a pack of dogs. The one that hollers is the one it hit"! So is this a self portrait or a close cousin of yours! :roflmao:

Honestly, yes......

The shit does not exist in my culture.

We celebrate our "blackness" all year round, in songs, festivals etc...

I don't surround myself with ignorant people but we all had just come from a nice event that was uplifting, just a nice group of black people networking, doing positive things etc.. when she said that unprovoked.

So it shocked me cause culturally I didn't know how to receive it.... as a compliment, to kunta resilience, determination not to get broken etc, or as a diss meaning in her mind my physical features remind her of slave images on TV

Where you from? All the women ive met from the islands are color struck & prefer light/mixed men. I was just on the phone with a friend from the Bahamas & she was talking about how she's staying in the house because she didnt wanna get dark due to the sun. gimme a break with this culture shit.
