Buying my first gun & looking for suggestions.

Look bruh, a small piece of advice first...never rely on "flashing" your weapon as in drawin' down on someone. In other words, if you pull it, plan to use it! Beyond this, use common sense about where you are and more importantly, WTF is going on around you, wherever you may be.

In terms of a weapon, this is what I have right now...HK.

.45 caliber Tactical USP. Will take a mothafuckas breath while blowing his chest completely out, PERIOD! a .357 Python...

...I don't like the nickel plated stuff, but if you are looking for something powerful and concealable, do not want to spend time maintaining...cleaning and oiling...with an automatic pistol, think about the 4" Python.

Also, someone gave some good advice, go to a range, and try out some different pistols to get a "feel" for what you are comfortable with. HK's are expensive, but in my opinion, worth the investment. But any large caliber weapon like the HK .45 or Colt .357 Python is known as....OH SHIT, PLEASE DON'T SHOOT ME!!! That is of course, if and when you do have to draw down. And I pray that you will never have to...

They shoot nice and are cheap .40cal w/rail for night sight/laser scope, GOOD quality gun. It's Smith and Wesson.

Average price New In Box $320 2 15rd Mags depends on the state u live in.

Check Gun Rules on NRA website for CA, IL, MD, NY Law are tuff.

I live in PG county MD (needs internal trigger lock after 2002)

I own the 9mm, getting a .40cal.

No gunz in NYC, Parts of Chicago, San Fran, DC(for now)

Used are even cheaper. as low as $250 for the same pistol.

This series S&W are great choices or go with the M&P series... i got a sw9v Smith and Wesson 9mm and its a great gun. They made this series to perfom like glocks and be lightweight and accurate. If you go with it get the all black - the 2 tone looks ugly, plus the all black looks like a glock. A good caliber for starters is 9mm or .40cal anything more and you need to hit the range all the time to get use to, and when you go to the range work on accuracy not just shootin a whole box in 5min. AND IF YOU PULL YA GUN OUT YOU BETTER SHOOT IT... DEAD MEN DONT TELL NO STORIES!!! and keep a pack of gunpowder wipes with you incase you have to pop someone, a bottle of beach or ammonia does wonders to clean up a situation... Plus the S&W 9 is easy to dissassemble and maintain.

I'll be buying my first gun soon also and went to the range to test a few. I'm gonna go with the Glock 23. 40 S&W..

Go with Glock

Reliable, accurate, affordable. Hit up a range though and try out some models

you can't go wrong with a glock.

the best prices can be found at www.topglock.com

you can buy the gun and they'll ship it to a gun store near your residence. then, you simply go do the background check, pay an extra $25 and walk out with your new pistol.

:smh::smh::smh: at cats that buy guns based on how they look.

Business venture, huh?
You sound like a fool. You think showing or using a gun is final? If, if, the cops don't lock you up, the people you fuckin' with have all the advantages. You don't even know who's comin' for ya.
I hope you survive this "business venture".

I was thinking the same shit! :smh::smh::confused::confused:

Potential protection.

I'm going to be doing a lot of traveling into a hood & city that I'm not familiar with for one of my new business ventures.

It's nothing that I can avoid so I would at the very least like to have peace of mind that if shit pops off I can flash a piece to deescalate a situation.

I plan on getting my concealed weapons permit first and then hit a few firing ranges before I purchase.

"FLASH A PIECE" when you pull it you better be ready to use it! When I purchased my first gun the shop owner ask me a question I will never forget. He said and I quote "What is a gun used for?" I said for protection and his reply was "No it's not! It's used for killing, if you dont think you can kill a man then you have no business with a gun!" So if shit pops off you better be ready to make the decision to kill or you will be killed, no exceptions! I tell my kids all the time that if see me with my gun or they hear me say I'm going to get my gun they better start duckin cause somebodies about to die! May sound cold but just bein real!

Get a glock, its a gun for dummies, get a 9mm, don't try and be gansta and get a 40cal. A 9mm has low recoil and its a great gun, easy to use and hardly ever jams, if it does jam the clearing process is simple as hell

Yo if u 4real holla at me men ...i know how to get dem big things, no games...i aint gonna put all in the open but if u serious holla at me 4real son. where u at anyways b?

I recomend the .357 semi-auto made only by "Desert Eagle". .

That Sir is incorrect, both Glock and Sig (as well as others) offer semi's in the .357 caliber. The Glock models are the 32 (Compact) or the 31 (Full Size). Or the Sig 226 or 229 both you can get in the .357. BTW if you want a DE go for the real deal .50 AE, it has waaaaaayyyyy more stopping power. For my money I would go Glock. Try to stay away from the 10mm, .45 GAP,. 357 Sig, 50 AE as these caliber or ammo are sometime (More than not) hard to get or expensive (especially when you goto the range for practice)...... Also stay away from the cheap brands like Star, Jennings, Hi-Point, Larson, ect most of these FA's are of inferior construction and are prone to FTF. Especially if you live in a FA friendly state goto the range and rent some FA's to see what feels right in your hand.

My First gun was a GLock... I'm not that experienced, but I've become rather good at handling and aiming this thing... Just got my CCDub early this summer and I can put a 4" grouping at roughly 20ft. It's the GLock 23, .40 cal. I'm better with the 9, though, it has much less kick. And I'd LIKE an HK, but them junts too expensive. Spent 550 on my G23 plus an extra hunbun for the Trijicon Nightsights I had them install...

my 1st piece was the glock model 17-the original, and i bought it at a shooting range in oklahoma city back in 1989.

i fired 50 rounds thru it and did NOT like it. so i asked the range owner, "which gun do you recommend?" he said, "well, a lot of them feel better than the glock, but i have them repaired all the time after so many rounds."

so i asked, "how often has this glock 9 mm been repaired?" he said, "uh, this gun has gone thru at least 5000 rounds, and all i've ever done was 'field' clean it." then, he broke the damn gun down for a field cleaning in about 15 seconds.

i said, "hhhmm, never been repaired, easy to clean, and a GREAT reputation? i'll take one just like this, how much?" at the time, it was $389.00. i still have it today, and i've lost count how many rounds i've passed thru this fucker.

:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

it jammed one time after i passed some cheap reloads thru it. other than that, it's been smoooooooth shooting.

I just got one of these and am pleased with it. I was gonna get the Glock 23, but decided to go with the S&W Sigma .40 cal. Got it from Bass Pro Shop and it was $399 with a $50 rebate, and two extra 14 round magazines (4 total)...

The Glock 23 from Topglock.com was $500 plus the $25 transfer fee so I saved a bit of money.

Well... flashing a piece aint such a good idea man. Pull it ONLY to use it as a LAST resort. I plan on buying a Baby Eagle by Magnum Research, 9mm because of the way those guns are built (pending a range test or two). You DO NOT need larger calibers for self defense, just target practice. Go to the range man... the range is your friend. Oh, and try to talk your way out of STUPID FIGHTS/ARGUMENTS. Most dudes 'round here get real fuckin brave cause they holdin. If at all possible, apologize and walk the fuck away. Backwards.

You guys are wasting your breath. This is just another kid selling jeri curl juice and curlers in the hood who's scared to stand up or give up. He thinks his life is worth a bag of hot combs. So now, what?
