Orlando should still go after CP3 regardless

Cuban a player in free agency?
Fuck around and have Dwight and Dirk on the team with cap space?![]()
I just keep thinking bout how cleared space for Duncan & wasted it on lafrentz
It's unlikely we can get him, but the silence from the front says they're trying to do something. Shit I wouldn't mind getting in on NeNe.
they have nothing to offer.
Hedo's horrible contract??
Gilbert's??
Jameer Nelson? Ryan Anderson who is still on his rookie contract??
The overpaid JJ Reddick??
again Otis has started to accept reality he knows he can't do much with what he has and the salary restraints that are on his team.
Which why he has moved from "I ain't trading Dwight." to "I'm do what's best for the Magic Franchise."
Dude is humble now
Those pieces are better than what the knicks can offer..

Don't matter, cp3 doesn't want to be in Orlando.

You saw the update Dwight doesn't want to go to the clippers and what Otis said today right?
Nah, what happened?
Chris Paul demanding a trade to the Knicks today was a major blow to Magic. The Magic had a Paul on their wish list of players to acquire to convince Dwight to stay. The Nets Deron Williams said he would opt out of his contract but sources say this is a financial move. Williams can earn 30 million more by re-signing with the Nets. Williams is also on Otis wish list but the Magic lack the pieces to make a trade. Sources before the lockout said Williams prefers a big market and wants to see what Nets can do in free agency.
---The Chicago Bulls have their priorities in order, starting with laying the groundwork for a contract extension for Derrick Rose, according to an ESPN.com report, citing a league source.
Rose's rookie contract expires after the season. He became the youngest MVP in league history last season and will likely get a max extension at the appropriate time comes.
No official offers can be made or signed until Dec. 9, per an NBA memo sent to all teams Tuesday night.
Sources confirm Howard is not interested in the Clippers. The Clippers many thought would be a dark horse in the "Fight For Dwight" but this remains a two horse race. The Lakers and Nets are Howard preferred choices
QUESTION: Of course, the mostly nonsensical trade rumors surrounding Dwight Howard have already begun in earnest. Do you think that Dwight’s pending free agency will be a distraction for him and the team this season? Is that a concern of yours?
OTIS SMITH: ``It’s hard for it to not be a distraction. You have to first figure out the road that he’s travelled in the past and figure out a way to keep the distractions to a minimum. It was a (distraction) a couple of years ago with LeBron (James), and I’m sure it is going to be the same way with Dwight and Chris Paul. If you are going to have one of the best players in the league, this is part of the program and at some point his contract is going to be up and you will have to deal with the matter of what’s next for him.’’
QUESTION: Do you go to Dwight at some point in the next couple of weeks or months and press him for an answer as to his future? Is it an absolute must to know what his intentions are before he becomes a free agent next summer?
OTIS SMITH: ``You have to do what’s in the best interest of your franchise because the future of this franchise is the most important thing at stake here. Dwight has been such a big part of our team and we’ve built around him for seven years. I really hope to get an indication of where he’s going so that our franchise can move forward. It’s tough to do that if we don’t have an inkling of what his plans will be.’’
QUESTION: You were a part of the management team that drafted Dwight, you’ve always had a good relationship with him and you have been around him for seven years now. Do you have a sense at all which way he is leaning as it relates to his future in Orlando?
OTIS SMITH: ``I can’t even venture to guess because it’s still up in the air. Because of the lockout, I haven’t spoken to him since July and there’s been no contact at all. I can’t really guess what he’s thinking right now, but I know he loves Orlando.’’

Just a rumor just like they said CP3 requested trade to NYK but no truth to rumor. CP3 to Magic.

Fans can't help but think the same, many of whom experienced Shaq's exit.
There's dread, given the possibility the Magic must end an era, trade him and re-set.
There's certainly frustration, if not anger, from a franchise that feels it has done everything possible to make Howard happy, i.e. spend like a big-market team.
I wouldn't be surprised if Rich DeVos' family decided to sell the team if Howard is dealt. Shaq's departure set back the Magic a decade. It doesn't matter if you have all the finances in the world when it's no longer fun.
Virtually every decision the Magic have made the past few years has been centered on the center. Have all the moves worked? No.
You can question trades, and trades never made. You can't question this franchise's commitment.
The atmosphere is now unsettling. Howard's free-agent status will cause distractions (unless he announces on Twitter that he's coming back -- not likely at this point).
And all the attention – wanted and unwanted -- can't help but yank Howard out of his comfort zone.
He hasn't handled his pending free agency gracefully, upset with the Sentinel's coverage dating to last season.
Well, he hasn't seen nothin' yet.
