First, something leaking absolutely does not mean that you should stop an investigation. That's not why you end an investigation, especially one that appears to be absolutely valid based on existing evidence.

Second, we don't even know who made the leaks. However...

Third, your convenient attempt at trying to make the leak a proper excuse for ending it makes me think you probably do know, and that they're on your side of the fence. Because honestly, anyone trying to make this investigation pan out properly would not or should not be stupid enough to be leaking info to the press while it is ongoing. I was just thinking about how dumb a move that would be... unless your intent was to destabilize the process from within, using a BS argument like the one Rooney is.
