BOYZ IN DA HOOD-vs-MENACE II SOCIETY !!!

I want to say Boyz had the greater impact...but I just cant.

See, Boyz had sad and happy moments. There was balance.

Menace was a fucking nightmare...nothing good happened which made you realize how crazy shit was growing up in that kind of hood.

Boyz....like someone said...was an after school special.

Cuba went to morehouse

His girl went to spellman

Morris died

Dough boy died
-----------

If Boyz was more like Menace......Cuba would have got killed which would have ruined the intentions of the movie.

---edit----

old ass thread...why was this bumped? Im commenting on this shit like it is new.

This has been asked before, but anyways,Boyz-N-Da-Hood is more relateble because of Trey's character and Menace,we all knew an O-dawg and a Kaine who just had a bad upbringing and death or prison was welcomed because life and living wasn't easy for them so they lived by the street rules. But Boyz-N-Hood was a better movie.

But personally,I liked Juice and the Movie Fresh better because I could relate more to them because it wasn't in California and it was some kids who just skipped school getting into minor things that eventually led to them doing adult things and before you know it,shit got real.Bishop's character was real, where a kid can go from shooting bb guns to robbing with a real gun and the power of having a gun changes things in a man-child world and he didn't foresee that that same power in his hand will be used against him in the same manner he used it against other's.
Fresh was just a good kid,who if he was raised in a two parent home in a different enviroment could of went to college and did great things but his situation that he was forced to live in just wouldn't allow it and the OG's respected him,his peers respected him while the odds were being stacked against him each and everyday he woke up there was an different obstacle in his path....if he would of lived to be 16yrs old he would of been one cold street hustler.

Man, I have Fresh on Blu-Ray and DVD bruh. Been having the DVD for almost 15 years and seen the Blu-Ray for like $5 online a couple years back. Classic. Let's put City of God up there too.......

I thought menace to society was the much better movie. It reflected the attitudes of the kids I grew up around who just didn't give a fuck. If you were raised in the inner-city you know how accurate Menace was. Like other people said Boyz in the Hood felt like an after-school special with a fairy tale ending. In real life there is no way to trey is hanging with Killas without putting in some work himself. Not in the late 80s...nah
