Boondocks!!!!!

I said I'd give it 3 episodes without Aaron but so far Season 4 of the boondocks is tragically unfunny. Needs to be put down #mercykillng

yeah, that was a real dud. I kept waiting for some kind of twist or something, but it was just grand dad acting dumber and dumber.

An as has been said before the topics are just so old that the satire feels stale.

robert Mother Fukin' freeman...

my nigga

can I say dat?

yes I can...

:smh:

I was wondering why they totally changed Ed's character. Even if Charlie Murphy was busy, they could have gotten someone else to do his voice. I also thought it was ridiculous to think someone would go to a loan shark to payoff mortgage debt, but it's tv. The episodes do have a different feel without the message from Huey at the end.

that is Ed Wuncler Jr...not to be confused with Ed Wuncler III or Ed Wuncler himself.

im betting if Aaron's other show Black Jesus is a hit theyll probably be begging him to do more Boondocks epsodes..
well, the season premiere was an all-time high audience, so they might pull a Family Guy (reviving a canceled show) or a The Game (reviving it on another network).

wow that episode sucked harder than the first one.

It's been okay but I think the ending of the last episode was them trying too hard and it fell flat with me.
I'll stick with it but it's lost the "must see" energy it had before.

Watched the shit last nite. Second episode was also garbage.:smh::smh:

And it wasn't just because I know Mcgruder isn't involved.
The show lacks satire!! That's what made all the old episodes so damn good. You can't just make fun of niggas and not have a point. That's basically is what the new season is like. All parody and no satire.

I keep watching cause I'm a big fan hoping it will get better. But I'm not holding my breath.:smh:

It's trying, but instead of providing satire it's making us look sort of buffoonish.

I mean they tried hard with the Gangstalicious and Lil Wayne credit cards, and as usual with Ruckus :smh:

But the execution is off, and it's what Dave Chappelle was fighting against after he signed that contract.

Yeah, dude, I could NOT believe he'd stoop so low as to "sell" himself into slavery; Huey should have gotten Tom to legally emancipate him so he could tell that cracka to go fuck himself

they crossed the line between funny thought provoking satire

into just flat out bs

there was no twist or no make you think moments it was just straight forward stuff

didn't like it. or how it felt watching it

Exactly.

You know what the writers did. They sat around trying to compile and find all the things that disproportionately affected black people. Housing crash and loan refinancing, slavery, celeb controversy etc and tried to parody it because its obvious try don't know shit about what's going on with the black community. Next episode is about hair parodying breaking bad. It's so obvious they are using all the stereotypes and cliches they know about black people and forcing it into these situations. While poorly satirizing our lives. They are writing all this situational humor without the colorful dialogue or African American wit.

At least when Aaron and team did it they made it make sense and made it funny.

Also this is first time I've seen a boondocks season have a continuing storyline. Usually the episodes are stand alone.

^^^^^^^^^

Yea, Huey doesn't really say shit. It sucks cause Huey's normally the narrator and sets the serious tone, meaning, and closing point of the episode.

This episode was more like it. Breaking Bad was so dope you could step on it, cut it, parody it and it will still be good. That shit about hair products was real talk.

Show is fuckin terrible man. :smh: Triple bitch post to try and make people feel a little better.

Thanks!
I came in here to rant but after JW's 3 bitch post - I feel a little better now! :):

but the Boondocks' writing is truly horrible- I wonder if during the reading and recording sessions if John Witherspoon kept yelling "this shit isn't funny" from time to time

This ep was better. But knowing this show is written by white folks now, I cringe everything I hear nigga.

EXACTLY

that whole sequence where he ended everything he said with "nigga" i was like yup this is what they wanted, they wanted to say that shit as much as possible without anyone being able to say anything about it

Man so far this shit is terrible. I like the fact that they have some continuity, but once I saw Grand-dad at the car wash and Ruckus Bitching about it... I was like didn't they just show this exact same shit last week. It looks like this entire season is going to be about Grand-dad's money problems.

Side Note... Rick & Morty for life....

And I could have swore at least one other time this season where grand dad said to Huey "for a smart nigga you say some dumb stuff" or something like that. I won't be surprised if they do it again.

Man, I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels some type of way about this shit. It's one thing for Black people to make fun of other Black people. But when white people are making fun of Black people--i.e., their basically slaves now, the woman in the hair shop, the woman at the airport, the gratuitous use of Nigga, it's just not right. Also, Riley seems worse some how--it's like he's just a non-thinking thug, or something. I don't know if I can consciously continue to watch it.

The breaking bad episode was actually good! Aaron Mcgruder would really be proud. It's sad that it took them three episodes to finally get the show right though.

I just don't like the fact they are centering around the story line of grandad being broke.:smh:

And are the writers really white now? If so then...:smh::smh::smh:
