Sony owns it, and Adult Swim owns the TV distribution rights... AS has no say in whether the show continues to be produced unless they buy it from Sony Entertainment...

Boondocks has ALWAYS been about laughing at us. And Huey is the voice of reason.
It seems like each episode has more "nigga" than the last.
Agreed Huey was in his origin incarnation as McGruder's conscience. Huey was dropping jewels the entire episode.
Season 4 has gotten way too obsessed with Ruckus; kinda like when what's happening became about Re-run (CACs love the buffoons)
Plot wise, it looked and felt like a season 1 episode. But the problem was that it's still not funny. I didn't get a single laugh from the entire episode. They relying WAY TOO MUCH on Ruckus. The only good parts were the one liners from Huey.

AS has the broadcast rights (right now) for the show to be shown in the US & not the distribution rights. This show is shown in other parts of the world. AS does not have permission to share it or sell it or forward or DISTRIBUTE it to any other entity.
Originally the show was taken to Fox but they passed on it and did not pick it up and refused to broadcast it.
Currently, Sony Pictures Television delivers/distributes the show electronically to AS.
Universal Press Syndicate distributed The Boondocks comic strip to 350 newspapers worldwide before it was cancelled.
IF AS was a distributor or their studios produced the show, then their logo would be shown on the show at the end of the credit sequence.

I don't think it would. That news already had people going into this season thinking it was wack. Because i'm gonna be honest. There have been better seasons but the humor and shit? To me its on the same level as last season. Its not about all of a sudden "laughing at us". Like someone stated above, its always been that way with Huey being the voice of reason. Only thing missing at times is Huey at all. Sometimes he's a supporting character. But aside from that.....its on par with last season to me. First two seasons were the best for me.
Folks I know that have no idea who McGruder is are calling this shit trash...
The last season was trash as well.. But this season is the worst by far. I know some of you guys only watched the show for the humor. But ther are a lot of us who also liked the deeper aspect of the show. It was what set it apart from say Black Dynamite TAS.. I don't tune into Boondocks to see cartoon comedy with the 'N' word thrown in a bunch of times per second. I watch it cause It's a premise that I understand involving different aspects of my community. The show has covered things like trying to fit into white society (see ep.1), "nigga moments", Hip-Hop culture as well as rap music, the politics of our country and business (see date with health inspector and Block is hot). I couldn't tell you what messages they are trying to convey in any of these newer episodes or half of the last seasons.

The DVD will be out a week after the last episode airs. I was thinking about copping that because I've missed the airings of most of the episodes this season. But now I'm not sure.
It's like buying that 5th season of Martin, you know it went bad in the last season, but you kinda want to have the whole collection plus it's only like 20 dollars so you go ahead and get it anyway.

tonight's ep is the best this season...IMHO. no wunclers, minus the ruckus scenes only 1 scene with the word nigga in it. 
the subject matter is slightly dated (siri) and the "when tech takes over" storyline/scenarios have been done before, but not in the boondocks universe. There are a couple of funny moments in this one...Granddad in the Apple store. 
I think that if this ep had aired last season, then it could have been labeled as another classic episode.
