Boogie Cousins tore his Quad

Over compensating is a mofo. After my knee surgery I tore my ham. That shit felt like I was shot in the back of the leg.

I did the same type shit after shooting ball with a torn acl, tore my meniscus on my other knee. Over compensating is hard to avoid, it will fuck you up.

Very good points. Especially about other surrounding tendons, ligaments, muscles, etc. How long did it take for you to rehab the ham' & achilles injuries respectively? How many years back?
Popped achilles end of oct and was running full speed by the next summer with no surgery. Popped the hamstring like 2 months after feeling 100 percent with the achilles. Fortunately tendon wasn't fucked and had that healed in no time at all. The bleeding was the ugliest part of that injury. I studied a lot about tendon/lig health and overcompensation after that because I dodged a bullet with the hammy not popping a tendon. Muscles heal incredibly quick as long as you don't pop the tendon with it.

Gotcha. Good on you researching tendon/lig health and having that awareness. I hear you re: muscle healing. It's surprising. Haven't had any major injuries with legs/knees. Had a deep sprain of one knee back in high school (basketball). Thought I tore something. Lucked out and didn't. Wore one of those knee sleeves for a number of weeks to be safe. Dad's had a number of issues over the decades. ACL, achilles, heel, etc.

The fuck you hear that?
For non surgical quad tears it takes about two weeks to heal. Then weight training begins. Warriors say they will revaluate him in two weeks to see how he responds to treatment.

So if all goes well he could be back conference finals or nba finals. After four weeks he will be back on the court working out lightly. Four to six weeks will get him a finals appearance

Damn. Those lower-body tendon injuries. :smh: He too damn heavy in a jumping sport. Seems like it will be a vicious circle of him injuring his leg and tendons not keeping up with the muscle.

once you tear a tendon, you got to strengthen the muscles around that tendon as well as the tendon you tore. The quad tear is just the result of his body overcompensating and failing
Both of y’all hit the nail on the head. To us it looks like he’s moving normally after the Achilles tear but he isn’t. He also plays about 280 which is way too big especially after tearing your Achilles. He’s gotta trim down to about 250-260 to give his lower body some relief if he wants to keep playing. If he doesn’t the lower back is next to go for him.

Dude is a great talent. Completely changed his game to stay with the current NBA trend

Yeah when I tore my Achilles that’s what it sounded like. I was playing basket and thought someone had kicked a ball into the back of my foot but then when I tried to lift ,y foot I knew something was wrong. I tried to start back playing basketball too soon after it had healed and messed up my knee, used to feel like the knee cap was just floating around inside there when I walked sometimes. I went to the doctor and he said I just needed to strengthen the upper and lower leg muscles. That was like 8nyears ago and my knee still gives me problems sometimes

After I popped my Achilles tendon in my left leg I knew not to over compensate. All I can do is strengthen my calves(legs overall) when I go to the gym I will still jog and play a light B-Ball game but fuck going all out and I'm in my 40s too, sheeiiitttttt.
