So after re-readiing the chapter it makes sense follow me.
That scar was given to her by Zarkai...she was the captian that he "killed" if you read the conversation you can see there is a past between these two...... But when the scence cuts back to the new Capt Commander saying saying he is sorry that in training she will lose one of her lives implying that she is either immortal or has multiple lives as stated earlier.....so it seems that there have only been two captians of the 11th squad and when she died she became capt of squad 4.....

yeah, but it makes sense to me. she in her wild criminal days abandoned him, he confronts her and stabs her in the chest, she cuts his head and he forgets.
we will all find out at the same time anyway if its true
so dude is like doomsday from superman, she is going to beat his ass close to death and he will come back stronger each time till she cannot beat him any more. If Unohana is this powerful whats the point in going through all this shit with kenpachi especially when they aren't sure if they will be able to control him?
I remember this arc when it was in the anime they never mentioned this guy by name they always made reference to squad 11....but anyway remember that they are battling to unlock his bankai that flashback he had when was stabbed in the neck could be the start of his sword finally speaking to him......if you go back to the first arc and episodes you would see a skull apper as his aura when he released his power so maybe his banki has something to do with death/fear/grim reaper or something.....also keep in mind we have never seen her bankai that giant manta is her shikai and she is a skilled kido master so he is out matched greatly right now.

Did anyone realize that she was fighting him with is eye patch off the entire time and she was easily handling him until the end. No wonder no one ever messed with her and she instilled fear in all of the other captains. Her banki was crazy also hard to tell what it did?
People are speculating it releases some kind of acid/poison since her shikai heals people. As far as Ken, he was holding himself back all this time. I don't think this is the end of this fight, just yet. I'm interested to see what kind of powerup he gets now.
This chapter was okay. Unohana dead...for now. Kenpachi's zanpaktou speaks. And yet another flashback for Ichigo. Renji has to be Harlem shaking in his head right now...

This was a good chapter until they broke away to ichigo i wanted them to stay on the Bankai Arc for Kenpachi......Ichigo is now going to go into some weeks long backstory to power up more, while he is powering up ....... there are a lot of other things things i want to know like what is going on in Hueco Mundo and what is Ichigos dads backstory and whats up with the Visoreds.

I dont understand why writers does that bullshit....They should continued Ichigo's arc after they were done with Kenpachi's arc...
He can't just let someone else shine too long. Power up time for ichigo.

It looks like the next few chapters will be boring....
We're learning shit we always wondered about. Ichigo is a Quincy (he's officially been everything in the Bleach universe), so was his mother, his father was a captain.

I just started reading Kenichi and they are just as bad but the difference is the shit they come up with to fill time is plot related and not just some random story thrown in. The other writers should take notes
Kubo don't give a wiggy he been writing the second most popular manga for over a decade.....i just want the animated box sets to come down in price the used joints on amazon are overpireced i need to complete my collection........I stopped reading Kenichi too many storylines going on at the same time gets hard to keep up with after a while......but i am interested to find out how Isshin becaee human again (gigi doll by Uharha)and had a family with a human Quincy and where was he a captain at must of been zero division since no one recognizes him.
