Black Soap????

Ok cuz help me here if I got the DuDu Osun as yall said what did I not read???? And where I live the water is ranked amongst the cleanest in the country

Sent from my S3 w/smiles!

you may have a skin type that disagrees with the constant exfoliation that this soap can do. perhaps you should rotate black soap with another good product so that it's not so rough on that beautiful, chocolate skin you own. i suggest dr. bronners (almond, peppermint, unscented, or citrus) as a good alternative... to give your skin a break.

my girl uses an unscented all-natural coconut soap from the phillipines on her skin. but she's never ashy or dry bc i'm told i HAVE TO rub her down & grease her up with shea butter or coconut oil after her bath/shower. tell your dude to get on his j.o.b.

its not that the natural soap is drying ur skin out.

its just that some of the chemical additives in other soaps are moisturizers.

B.I.N.G.O.

people don't understand that fact, but you phrased what i've been trying to say in one single statement. thanks.

when you see, "glycerin, petrolatum, etc.," all of that makes your skin smoother, etc., bc it's artificially put in there to make it that way. a natural soap will leave your skin in a more NATURAL condition.

One thing I can agree with is using it every other day.

I use it mostly when I shave which is like every 2/3 days.

As for the ingredients in Dudu Osun:

Pure Honey
Shea Butter
Osun (camwood)
Palm kernel Oil
Cocoa Pod Ash
Palm Bunch Ash
Aloe Vera
Lime Juice
Water and fragrance

Maybe whatever is in the fragrance "might" be what dries the skin out otherwise everything else seems to be stuff to moisturize the skin.

i might be wrong, but i think the cocoa pod ash and palm bunch ash are mild exfollients...used to get rid of dead layers of skin. everything else is either a moisturizer except for the 'fragrance' stuff, which may be essential oil or something. :dunno: but i doubt that the fragrance ingredient is drying out the skin.

i think the use of commercial soaps (with artificial moisturizers) has us CONDITIONED to think that after cleaning/scrubbing dirt and dead layers of skin off our bodies is supposed to leave us feeling soft, silky, and smooth. we may have the game twisted backwards.

natural soaps should do some cleaning, and afterwards, we should be left with skin as it's sposed to be. that's why you'd need to add your own natural moisturizer like cocoa butter, shea butter, or coconut oil. i prefer any of those 3 over glycerin, petrolatum and mineral oil any day.
