This whole discussion was a fail nothing was gained. All the black dude did was bitch and moan the same rhetoric that been said for years, the same for the white guy. Is racial privilege real in our society? YESSSS!!! Both sides need to truly empathize at the end of the day.
If the roles were reversed where Anglo-Saxons were socially marginalized, enslaved, and their continent & history was systematically sabotaged while the world got to where we are now, then Black Privilege would take the place of what White Privilege is today. And as a result, it would be hard for blacks to empathize with whites.
It is impossible for any race to truly empathize with another because for X-amount of years one race enslaved the other. Generations have to die off in order for this social disparity to become a non-issue.
As black men or any minority, when discussing these issues we have to hide our emotions but take that emotional energy and use it to pursuade others so they can see where we are coming from that’s how you change ppl’s minds. When we act emotional, on TV mind you, all we look like is a crying kid who just complains over and over that life isn’t far. Duh, no shit!!!
Also if that caricature is racist then practically every cartoon could be flagged as so. It’s a FUCKING CARICATURE it’s supposed to be out of proportions and satire like. Shoot practically every caricature they do of Jewish ppl you always see the big nose. Now does that reinforce racism, indirectly Yes, but that depends on the receiver of the message; although the intent of most cartoons nowadays are not meant to be racist.
