Birth of A Nation’s Box Office Flop and The Unrepentant Pettiness of Black Feminists. (good read)

This Black woman's article is 1,000% on point! The bourgeoisie "professional?" "feminist" Black women that she describes, - most of them need sessions with a psychiatrist. Not today's modern "shrinks" who just write prescriptions for pharmacuetical drugs; but an old time rigourously trained psychiatric therapist who sits you in a comfortable couch or chair and listens & then asks pertinent questions. The type of therapist that was portrayed as analyzing Tony Soprano in the HBO television series The Sopranos.

Most of these women are sitting at home waiting for their "Denzel Washington" or their "Barack Obama" to drop out of their ceilings and suddenly appear in their bedrooms.
When this fantasy doesn't materialize they band together and form "reading clubs" and watch parties where they huddle around the television set and watch Kerry Washington be a Negro bed wench in the "hit" show 'Scandal'.
If they are working in corporate america (Fortune 1000) and they reach the middle management level, and they look around at the regional meetings (about 300 managers at a conference) they see few if any Black men. Instead of understanding the systemic institutionalized racism & white supremacy culture that has created a corporate work environment that will hire a Black women & promote her 100- 1 over a Black man, she looks around that conference auditorium and blames Black men for NOT being in that room.
She becomes bitter. When she does run into that good looking "brother" in the Zegna suit & Hermes tie, the great car, extremely intelligent & self assured, financially ascendant, she immediately thinks that he should instantaneously fall "in love" with her and start going-steady with her. When that doesn't happen, the "brother" now becomes a villain. She says: "He's just a player".
Meanwhile the "roughneck" street brother who talks shit to her as she leaves her house in the morning for her commute to work, he intriques her. She looks at him as an entertaining clown. He's not what she thinks and has been "trained" to want, but one Friday night she will wind up in bed with him and he'll "break-her-back". She won't feel too bad about it in the morning because in her mind, "she's in control".
Gay men become "best friends" , "politically correct" and harmless. Girl on girl sex, is temporary lesbianism which satisfies unfufilled carnal desires. Meanwhile she and the girls take a vacation to Paradise Island. She is sitting by the pool and she looks across and sees the Zegna suit & Hermes tie brother in his swimsuit lounging at the pool with not one fine woman, but two, a hot Hispanic woman & superbadd Black woman. She goes beserk, picks up her phone and starts tweeting. "Brothers aint shit". The psychosis continues.

Please drop the mic when you walk out...there's not much more to say.

That's the point nobody is mentioning and why these reviews were hit pieces already decided

a film as bad as they say it is, does not win those awards at the film festival and does not get bought for 17 million by fox of all places.
Not a fucking film about Nat Turner.
Period.

Bills same question. ..

Ok put your producer hat on, the studio buys this at Sundance the backlash happens and they drop this on your desk...

Jay Dade u got 8 weeks to make this movie a commercial success...

What do u do? How do u market and promote this, when where amd how do u release it? How do you work with parker? Tell me YOUR gameplan?

Prolly pushed it back and wait till it get Oscar Buzz all over it.

Maybe have it ready to buy/ download same time as theatrical release.

I like the download option but that is just giving out the bootleg....

and u really think MORE time would have helped the backlash?

Bills same question. ..

Tell him to get on the black side. Apologize to black women. Focus on black women and men solely. Don't worry about appeasing whites. Go on the tour and hit up every black radio station, TV show and everything else.
I'm buying out ads at all major black events. I'm not even banking on white people going to see this film at all. I'm finding where the niggas at and we rolling with it like that point blank.

Co sign

See I agree I thought he would do black colleges try to host something on BET or another black cable channel, AMC or TCM or Netflix or History channel or PBS to really get that going...some kind of book tour.

And high schools too.

Just be more proactive...

Cause unfortunately to me his best interview was his last one on breakfast club.

fuck those film festival circuits. they not going to see the movie.
do that after the fact. you say its for black people and for our future and to inspire. then hit the streets. literally.
should've been campaigns like straight out of compton for this one.

Great example

7 million plus opening weekend is a flop
was they saying all them other slave shits was a flop?
he got his money, fuck this petty flop shit

Exactly, no one calls 12 Years A Slave a flop and they did nearly the exact same numbers opening weekend. Niggas just aint going to see it. Could be slaved out, but we aint even supporting real life "Djangos" niggas love talking about.

The sad part is there is no reasoning with these types. Take WTGGT. When she inevitably starts posting in this thread, this shit could go on for twenty pages, and every single last one of us could make our most logical, most impassioned posts, and it will go through one eye and out the other. I've seen it with her, and I've experienced it with that type. Its not that they're always wrong, but when they take a position, God Almighty couldn't make them back up off of it. Shit, the more sense you start making, the more they will double-down, even if it means that they have to let go of logic and wander over into realm of stupidity . . .

...they will not concede. Pernt blank.

When you realize you can't change someone's mind about something no matter how much sense you make the sooner you stop trying the better

How often you see me going back and forth with anyone on here for too long?

I'm the same way everywhere

it couldn't have flopped because they were in the black before it even dropped lol
but don't let facts confuse their hit piece arguments.
never see black people more passionate than when its time to tear down another black person.

All the "cool" white people ppl claim they know didn't go see the shit either.
All those white people Parker was pandering to before it dropped, did not go see it.
Should have never even pandered to them once Fox bought it. Just walk in and say if you want this to be a hit we need to target black people.
Just target them. Get on every circuit every show. We doing podcasts, we doing steve harvey show, we doing it all. We doing wendy williams. We going on judge mabeline. we hitting every spot up. Every one.

We starting with an apology for even being caught up in the bullshit.

"I was young, I was fortunate that justice was served as I was found not guilty and i vowed to never put myself in a sketchy position like that ever again. Thanks to God's grace I have put that chapter of my life behind me. I feel for the emotions she might have been going through but I thought it would be better for both of us if we parted ways and picked up the pieces of our lives so no i have no had contact with her nor have i kept up with her life because I thought it was best for both of us. I am saddened to learn that she took her life. I wish her and her family well, I also learned after the fact that she had in fact been battling depression since she was a child. Mental health is a serious issue I will not make light of and so I will leave it at that"

NOW

This movie is made by us and for us. We always say we want to see us strong and represented on the screen well this is it.
Any questions about the movie or who nat turner was just ask me..
he takes questions from host and people in the audience. If they ask about the rape just say it was in the past, i have worked in numerous films since then it is a problem now because they don't want you to see a black man fighting against oppression, especially now. That is a message that needs to be stopped. Don't go see the movie for me, go see it for yourself.
MOVE ON

Stay on the talking points don't get frustrated. Stay on them. Take the beating. Next go to college's "Yall think yall woke?" SCREEN IT AT HBCU'S all of them. Screen it and do a q&a with them after.

Roll out a national campaign. Ask a question. Fuck that hanging symbolism with the American flag, that's fake.
Roll out "Who is Nat Turner?"
Put that everywhere. BOLD LETTERING. Guerilla marketing style. Put it in the black hubs. Oakland, LA Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Charlotte, Atlanta, NYC etc etc. Put it everywhere. Who is Nat Turner?
Viral videos of a fight scene.
Don't roll out a full length trailer. Just 30 second cuts.

He's standing there preaching with a overseer standing by him with a gun.. he says a few words, there is no music. He pauses and then he closes his eyes.
This comes on.

It's black.
Then we're doing the flash scenes of fighting, anger, aggression. Rain, Sorrow, Pain, gritting of the teeth. People dying. Him leading the revolt. People being too scared to fight. That same overseer now at his mercy. It goes faster and faster until its all a big fast blur. Then when the music stops in this video he opens his eyes again we're back at him standing there preaching.

There's no way to keep him from being a rapist out of the news.

And then.....the cork flew off the bottle. And it became known. What's done in the dark always come to light.

if he didn't do nat turner it wouldn't have come out. period.

actually HE hadn't done it meaning raised the money wrote it directed it and acted in it then it wouldn't have come out
if it was a speilberg or lucas film we would have no idea.

It's the answer to your post to the answer to my post. If. If he wasn't running around raping white girls the white people wouldn't have this on him. And since he was running around raping whites this is what happens.

u killed it bruh! i hate to say it but....... but u and i , unspoken btw us and to be honest, have a sneaking suspicion that brother nate aint as "woke":rolleyes2: ....he wanted "white acceptance' somewhat ,
so theres no way he wouldve seen this route ^^ like u said the "film festival" crowd aint goin to see it either..they are mostly the liberals types that DrKing &Baldwin spoke about

Here we have a so-called 'woke' black woman, who knows about the history of false accusations of white women against black men, and this countries propensity to demonize said black men purely on the accusations of white women alone. This 'woke' black woman ALSO knows that a black man was found acquitted of raping a white woman by a white jury, and yet ...

...somehow, someway, with no more information to base her opinion on than what has been made public, she has dug her heels in w/ her belief that he is a rapist.

This 'woke' black woman has put her womanhood over her blackness in defense of a woman who probably would not put her womanhood over her whiteness for her if a white man had raped her.

I really am starting to believe most- not ALL, but most- these "woke" "afro-centric" and "feminist" black women are nothing more than the bitter foot soldier's of the Not Pretty Enough Brigade ,Squandered Looks Squadron, or Bad Decisions Division.

I say that because quality women- as in they qualify in their ability to attract and retain the interest of the men they deem attractive for a long term relationship- are to busy building and enjoying their lot in life to bitch.

These women front like it's an intellectual argument but it's really an emotional one; they're hurt/pist that they weren't choosen and/or the sun set on their looks and they didn't make hay.

So....The blame game, "There's not enough GOOD MEN".

Very intteresting perspective.

Knowing that, no matter how accomplished or intelligent anyone is in life, underneath all of that lies a human being regular needs and desires just like everyone else

Barack Obama wants to fuck, and Oprah's pussy gets/got wet. Their enormous accomplishments don't change that.

These women are basically using their intellect and social movements to mask emotional pain, stemming from feelings of inadequacies.

he takes questions from host and people in the audience.

Just 30 second cuts.
o to 100.

Cuts to black

Something like this might have worked.

Well damn....

We all need to do better when it comes to this social media sh*t.

Social media has allowed the MSM to cherry pick from the feedback of these so called black feminists and gave false validation to that feedback as the views of black people as a whole.

Black men can and do check the bullshit by the so called black feminists quickly get off that "fuck black men" and rah rah shit and make themselves victims, saying they are being "bullied" and they "don't feel safe". Ironically, it's the same tactic that CACs used when cornered or called out of some fuck shit or false narratives that they spit.

The black feminist social media warriors are the worst of the worst and a scourge on a medium that could be used to rally and unite, and it does so sometimes, often a well-intentioned seed is planted and before it can blossomed it's hijacked by the BFSMW. It's :smh:.
