I disagree with the fundamental philosophy that the Bush and Cheney's direction was wrong but their approach was right. I just don't think you can be the president, and do a good job by ignoring the concerns of half the country because they didn't vote for you.
Especially as the first minority ever elected to the office... You'll only succeed in reinforcing the false idea that minorities are idealogically different from "real americans" and therefore shouldn't be allowed to run the country.
That being said, I wouldn't mind if he got more aggressive, since he'll never get even one Republican vote on anything, no matter what he does.

Obama campaigned on getting out of Iraq. The military is trying to negotiate a permanent occupation (Iraq's gov't wants a withdrawal date). He should just do what he said he'd do during the campaign, thats all.
He's amped up the Afghan war - even the CFR guy on the maher show said that was a choice - well, he didn't have to do that. Supposedly Biden and a few other insiders advised against it, the generals wanted to ramp it up, and he decided to do that. Again, a choice.

He's approached this in a smarter way than Bush but he never promised he would unilaterally pull out of either.
