We already know that tonight’s Real Time guest Killer Mike loves to roll up, as does Bill Maher. Hell, Zach Galifianakis smoked on the show once, no matter how hard Maher tried to deny it. With Mike in the studio, tonight was the perfect time for Maher to release a seven-minute tirade against those who stand in the way of country-wide legalized marijuana.

First, he clapped back at President Barack Obama‘s tepid comments that the “bad habit” is no worse than alcohol, saying “It’s not a bad habit, it’s a fantastic habit.”

The, he got serious:

Somehow, this is the year that everything from socialism to mass deportation is on the table and voters love the authentic guys who speak their minds, but when it comes time for Congress to consider common-sense pot legislation, it’s like smoking a joint withWoody Harrelson; they just won’t pass it!

He then went on to compare and contrast the legalization of marijuana with gay marriage, which he has done before. He hypothesized that legalization of weed is taking so long because, unlike with same-sex marriage, DEA agents, police officers, and prisons stand to lose a whole lot of money if the War on Drugs is called off. So too would pharmaceutical companies and breweries, along with the stores that carry their products.

He attacked states that are taking away rights and then, he went out in a blaze of glory: The medical marijuana card-carrying user just lit up a joint.

This is why that want to keep it illegal. They built jobs off of a campaign of lies and favors. Dupont wanted hemp to be illegal because it was fucking up the company's bottom line, then the lies started that would make any racist gay hater agree with the government..."marijuana makes you gay" and "marijuana makes white women seek relations with negroes".

Not very habits that exist are good.. And while I been smoking weed longer than most of this board been alive to call it a good habit is misinformation by a privileged crakka.

I have known many people though out the years that weed was not good for.

Just like drinking alcohol in excess isn't a good look neither is smoking weed in excess.

I think he spoke to that last point.

I'm of the personal belief that abuse/addiction is much more about the person than the substance. I bet the right study could back that up.

Weed isn't addicting so how is it a habbit. It's a choice. There is no evidence it does damage . My pops smoked weed for 40 years.

Obama compared it to cigarettes-- that's far worse as far as misinformation goes.

There are people who have so called addictive personalities can't stop smoking....and even taking into your idea that it's a choice would mean they are physiologically addicted.

And what do you mean by damage ? Stop using such narrow definitions

i know people who are addicted to weed just like people are addicted to coffee.

There's nothing to see with Maher. It's just the world has become a lot more sensitive than when he first started. Bitchmade is in now. It's all fun in games when he's making fun of rednecks and bush. Cool when he was clowning Clinton in the 90s. Cool when he called out the U.S. after 9/11. But since he makes fun of everything, the ultra sensitive people on the left started crying.
