BGOL Tablet buying guide

Well that's a fair statement...I see your point there...for me it's not an issue cuz it's just an entertainment device but I can see that being a realistic concern for someone working on the go

And if they're doing that type of work use a fucking laptop that is meant for that. Folks trying to take an entertainment form function tablet and turn it into a super computer. My main uses for my iPad is the Nook App, movie capabilities, and surfing the net. Having true multi tasking does seem nice but oh well.

:lol::lol::lol:
so people cant use their ipads for business reasons? tablets arent only meant for entertainment. if this was true, companies wouldnt spend millions of dollars to give their employees ipads. people like to pull out their tabs while on the go, walking down the street. try doing that on a laptop. you cant tell me it would be more comfortable than a tablet.

see what i said, if the ipad doesnt have it, they dont need it. but if it had it............:lol::lol:

Get 3g to become another bill?

exactly. use the data plan on your phone to tether. there is always a way to do this for free. and those devices that are sold by carriers, are usually last in line to get updates. Like the Xoom. The wifi version got ICS back in december. The Verizon one hasnt even gotten it yet.

Waiting for verizon to add bloatware and shit to it.

Just upgraded my iPad first gen to third gen. The retina display is amazing. I turned on my old iPad after using the new one and the old display seemed fuzzy now and the colors were drab. The color saturation on the retina display is outstanding.

A friend of mine bought the iPad today. On screen to screen comparison while viewing the same page, the third generation screen definitely popped with more colors, and looked way sharper than my iPad2, other than that and it being faster :smh:

If I had an iPad2, I wouldn't have upgraded. Mine was getting long in the teeth.

Oh yeah, going from the first gen to the third was a good move.

Second to third...:smh: Not necessary at all, and I noticed, I dunno if due to the screen or faster processor/graphics, the new iPad was getting real hot on the back.

Honestly if you have an ipad them shits don't need to be upgraded. You aren't missing much on Gen 1 by not having a camera. Something that should of been included at the time.

But does anyone really use the camera?

I did see one girl put a pic of herself on facebook in the bathroom taking a picture with it.

I don't need a camera on my iPad. First gen is starting to get slow when using newer versions of apps.

I've used it to Facetime with family from time to time but if I didn't have the camera I wouldn't be crying.

That is probably in your mind homey.

Good thread!

I really want someone to rate the top 5, is that possible. & show price of each?

I was going to get the wife a Kindle Fire. Then I was thinking about that new Samsung Tablet..

I really don't know what to do?

I want it to be able to view EPUB or PDF files as well as surf the net, read emails and even if available, i wanted her to use it for her business to swipe Credit Cards... any help?

Wait till they start developing apps to take advantage of the new display.

No he's right...some features of certain apps won't even work w/ gen 1 iPad for example Azul Media Player will only play certain hd flicks on gen 2 and above

Then cross the Kindle Fire off that list :(

Got an iPad 2...i was going to go Android, but got Android on the phone....tablet wise, the iPad just has wayyyy more choices for apps. Tried looking up my magazines that i subscribe to on Android and most are not there...iPad...yes. It is a shame because specs wise, the Android tabs are there but support is not.

you tried Zinio?

no, but beyond that, the iPad just has the support factor hands down. I roll with Android on the phone because i don't really need all the apps, the most i use are gmail, google maps, google voice, and weather and just a few others. I also and not planning to game on my phone.

However, tablet wise, the iPad is big enough to be reading books, magazines, etc. Not to mention that companies like Yamaha, Korg, etc make apps for the iPad that go with their gear.

These types of things aren't available yet in Android tabs.

I like Android, and was thinking of getting a Galaxy tab, but they just aren't getting the support of the iPad.

reading the New iPad reviews makes me lean towards getting a refurb iPad 2. Pretty much only thing new is the screen and a small graphics boost. Both matter not to me, 1. iPad 2 has a great screen 2. I don't play many games on my ipad and the new ones that do interest me run on my iPad 1 fine and will run better on iPad 2 and from the reviews there is no big difference. I also have no use for LTE on a tablet since it's main features r crippled i.e. netflix... I have unlimited data on my phone and will upgrade to an LTE phone later this year.

And I want a 32 or 64gb ipad, way too pricey for the new generation. Lastly, Google is releasing their 7 inch Nexus tablet for 149 in april. It won't be a spec giant but it'll serve me since I want a 7 inch tablet for traveling.

I'm also reading how the new iPad takes longer to charge and gets really warm after 15/20mins. I have to see them together in the Apple Store later to be sure but right now i iPad 2 and Nexus Tablet give me the price accurate flexibility I want.

This youtube review pretty much answers my questions
