I only run in 5 minute intervals on the treadmill at the gym before every workout and havent done a long run in years but I've been thinking about it recently.
At the start of every workout I
a)walk for 3 minutes to warm up
b)turn off the treadmill turn backwards and push the belt as hard as I can going all out for 5 minutes straight simulating a sled drag
c)immediately turn around and run for 5 minutes -10 mph for the first 3 minutes and at the max 12mph for the last 2 minutes.
I'm always drenched with sweat like I just came in from a monsoon then I do whatever routine I have for the day. 5-6 days a week.
I dont wear shoes for any of the non rumning parts of my gym sessions so I'm walking around in my socks like a fuckin heathen for the next 45 to an hour
