*** BGOL Runners: Motivational Thread for Long Distance Running ***

Oh shit. That sucks. Hopefully your recovery went well.
Nah it actually came from doing bleachers.
My tall ass was skipping 3 and 4 steps and shit.
Felt that pull and collapsed like the Dow Jones nigga.
The pain aint as bad as it was on day one.....and i dont have to walk as gingerly. But im still not back to 100% yet. More like 85%.
Another week and i will be str8.

Congrats man! You keeping a pace under 8:30 for nearly 11 miles is wild. I’m going to start my longer runs soon. The weather is about to optimal for us! You going for any personal records this fall? Possibly join a race?

I finished August with a sub 8 minute per mile pace. My 6 miles per week streak is up to 31 and I broke a 3 mile record on Thursday. And I clocked speeds up to 14.7 mph on my morning run today. I spent the last 2 months focus on raw 5k speeds. The results were surprising to me. My weight is down to 179 pounds.

Thanks man. These people talked me into the NYC 18 miler with themin three weeks,i had no intentions of doing a race this year. Im back to work now so the miles are about to taper .

Congrats on the weight loat and keep up the good work/progress

Still cooking.

My pace per mile on my 5ks are consistently under 8 minutes, which is really good for me.

33 weeks in a row for 6 miles or more per week. I feel great and moving well. Weight still hanging around 180.

41 years old
6’2
180 pounds

Other metrics:
VO2 max is at 49, which is my endurance levels.
Resting heart rate gets as low as 38 beats per minutes (max up to 183 during workouts).
Cardio recovery is about 43 beats per minute.

I only run two times a week, so consistently also pays off too.

How are you planning to mange during the winter?

Congrats fam! Helluva accomplishment and incredible pace for 20+ miles.

Hills make you rethink this running shit for real

Thanks man, it was 3 laps around so you hit them steep hills more than once. Around mile 14 my ankle started to feel like it was popping out the skin. None the less i finished. Good experience.
Full marathon next

That's awesome man. I can't fuck with marathons. In fact, I hate running and I have to do this shit every six months in the military and with this TRT I'm on I done shot up to 235lbs lifting weights. Can't be running no marathons at that weight.

Yeah, that weight is tough to run at. Lol

I started running when I was at 228. That’s was in 2018. Down to 180 now.

My stamina has been picking up
I’m running for a good hour with minimal stops (to power walk)
I’m about to start calisthenics and ab workouts to melt some of this chest and stomach
