Wanted to start a thread talking about cars that people have purchased recently, prices paid, impressions... Is there something like that in any of the forums?

Been thinking about buying a new MB GL350 or GL450 as well as a Dodge Durango R/T. Wondered if anyone had one of the latter.

I was looking at a 2013 Acura MDX $34,991

I have never driven one, but I saw one and I liked it but 2 years old drops 20K off of the price. Hondas are good cars, so what the hell.

Does anybody own one? What kind of warranty does Acura have on their cars. The last cars I had were Hyundai and Kia, so I am used to the 10 yr 100K, which I am sure Acura doesn't have. If I cop one it will be either a 2013 or a 2012 with low miles.

Such a broad question on BGOL will lead to. Jerry Springer type free for all brawl. You should narrow your question to a specific car or couple of cars.


Also, be aware that several folks on here frown at you buying German cars. They feel that you should have signed the ghetto pact of driving the Chrysler 300 or Infiniti like all black folks.
 
Just to answer part of your question, the Gl350 is. Diesel . I don't care what the savings are, it is not as refined as a gas car. The Gl450 has now been changed into a 6 cylinder turbo in 2015. Frankly, I prefer the V8 engines on the previous models. That said, look for a 2012 or 2013 cpo.

What do you think of Audi??? I guess more specifically the A6 or A8 as far as luxury cars go

They are nice and above average cars. More money was spent on building the A8 and you will like it better than the A6 as a luxury car. Please make sure that yu buy a CPO unit. If the car does not give you much trouble in its first year, it will probably be trouble free for a long time.

Go with the GL350 it's better on gas

Personally speaking id rather the GL 550 or GL63 AMG

We just bought a Gl450 for my friend last week and I went to work the deal for him. The new 6 cyl turbo in the gl450 is actually very smooth and powerful but I still think that truck needs a v8. The previous 450 was a v8 and they have an even more powerful v8 in the 550. My wife wants out of her Lexus and we will seriously look at the gl550.

i just recently purchased a MB ML350 4matic for my wife about a month and a half ago. smooth and comfortable ride. handles the street and highway well even in bad weather. Its a 2011 tho with 27k miles,....it was only $22k. A sweet deal if u ask me. I've seen 08 models go for that much.

Why driving a nice reasonably prices Chrysler or infinity is ghetto?

Yeah that's one of the reasons it's at the top of my list. I'm hearing the A8 rides better overall from people who have driven both but of of course I'l have to judge for my self.

It's more sporty and you feel younger driving the A8. The Benz seems to add 10 years to your age.
