that draft went well. it makes a HUGE difference when you draft a defensive TEAM instead of individual players.

12 managers, under 2 hours.

still looking forward to the other draft on the 3rd. i'm gonna have someone fix me a plate for that one, because i KNOW it will be a long one.

Drafting team defenses is pretty cool for smaller leagues, but drafting
individual players are better for the big ones.

I like to pick the best players on both sides of the ball anyway.
Makes the game more intricate which is why we're doing it.

But if you've got 12-16 teams with team defenses, only 3-5 are gonna
have a decent defense, plus you won't have ANY team during the bye
week unless you pick up a bum defense

agreed. it's more interesting and competitive when you have to pick individuals on D. i have to admit though, that i miss the original format you introduced me to a few years back: rosters having to include D lineman AND linebackers instead of just linebackers.

if i ever have enough foresight to plan another fantasy football league, i'm gonna make sure D linemen are mandatory.

another pearl of wisdom i hadn't considered!

i DID pick up a backup defense, but am embarassed to admit that i have the rams and 49ers.

i don't mind taking my lumps, this is a learning experience for me.
