These are two of my favorite shows of all time. Scrubs ran from 2001-2010. John C. McGinley was a supporting character on that show. Walton Goggins played Boyd Crowder on Justified (2010-2015) and was a supporting character on that show.

Goggins was nominated for an Emmy during the first season, but I felt he got better as the series progressed and season 1 wasn't even his best work. John C McGinley was never nominated for Scrubs although he should have been

The best shows aren't made by the main character, they are made by The Supporting Cast, the people who aren't in every scene. I know one is a comedy and the other is a drama but you can't deny the talent of either.

Both of these shows owe their success to how well these two supporting actors did in their perspective roles. Neither man won Emmys or any major awards for their portrayals of these amazing characters

McGinley was a multifaceted character with various complexities played very well by John C McGinley. I don't know another actor that could have pulled it off as well, and with his Charisma and control as well as his improvisational skills, he made that role his own

I saw somewhere online that said Walton Goggins has more range than a 50 caliber bullet. I can't deny that. Whatever role he is in the dude blends in like a chameleon and bodies the role.

As Boyd Crowder he ran the Gambit of emotions and vulnerabilities as his motivations varied thru the series, well as being the anti-hero, possibly one of the best written antiheroes in the history of TV. If you haven't seen the show Justified, the dialogue during the show running was Top Notch

Voted for Walton. I like both shows but Scrubs without Dr. Cox could still be Scrubs because its a buddy series, he did his thing. Justified without Boyd is not the same show. Most of the series is Raylan v Boyd and Boyd was a formidable foe.
It was close for me but ....in the end....

And see I thought THAT SAME THING!!!! But the thread is about the actor themselves and I really can't pick who is better. I feared Boyd, even the settled down, coal miner Boyd. I can't think of a moment I didn't laugh my ass off when Dr. Cox was on-screen. This is like choosing with cheek of my wifes face do I want to cum on.

@godofwine
Got a list of their award nominations?

Were talking unappreciated right? How many nomination and awards have they gotten

They have a bunch of Gold Derby TV award nominations and Online Film and TV Association, Satellite Award nominations, Critics Choice award nominations, but none of the major awards that people know about

Walton Goggins

John C McGinley

Walton hands down, he's wildly underrated
I've seen that guy so comfortable in a wide array of roles. I don't know anything that guy couldn't play

How many actors are talented enough to play Boyd Crowder the way he played it? I mean a brilliant redneck hillbilly? Talk about busted stereotypes
