You tell me what 7 footer had Duncan's handles, post game, man to man defense, passing and jumpshot and i'll wait.

I gotta give it to Shaq.
Whenever the League changes the rules of the game to stop you that's it as far as I'm concerned. Had the rules stayed the same Shaq would have been even more dominant. Shaquille O’Neal dominated any single player sent to defend him, Stern changed the basketball player rules to effectively allow a zone defense. This helped other teams to defend him with multiple players before he even touched the ball.
BEFORE HE EVEN TOUCHED THE BALL.
Imagine if that rule was never changed and people HAD to guard Shaq 1 on 1 for his entire career. His career would have been even better than it was. The entire NBA colluded to stop one man. For that alone I have to go with Shaq.

Someone said Shaq didn't rebound
Someone said Shaq didn't play defense but look at the block shots
Why do Shaq have the higher FG%
Keep in mind Shaq's last few season made all of his stats drop but like I said in another thread 1 person says something and the rest of the people quote them not knowing that person has no idea what they are talking about. Plus the fact Ducan use to be getting dunked on like the rest of the league. Ole Timmys freethrow is nothing to write home about
Shaq

Finals Appearances and Playoff Averages: 6 APP, 25.2 PPG, 12.1 RPG, 2.8 APG, 2.2 BPG, 56.4 FG%, 50.1 FT%
Duncan

So, according to your numbers, Tim was a better rebounder, better passer, nearly equal in blocks (despite not being as tall or as big), and a better free throw shooter.
Comparing their selections for All Defensive Teams, it looks like the league says Shaq didn't play defense.
Again, we're talking about one guy who was dominant on one end of the floor and comparing him to a guy who was dominant on both.
My point is to the people that says Shaq didn't play defense or rebound but his numbers are right on par with Ducans. Now you want to say he put up good numbers for his size but he wasn't checking Centers he was checking fowards. Another thing is Ducan was not a dominate defender. Who the hell did he shut down?!!? Ducan was on a good defensive team but again name 1 player this guy shut down bc he wasn't even allowed to check Shaq.
'Yeah same here but then I noticed Shaq played 19 years and Duncan is in his 15th. Shaq's 15th season numbers were very similar to Duncan's now.
Shaq never made 1st team All-Defense because there were always more deserving big guys who were better around defenders (Robinson, B. Wallace, Mourning)
I guess it comes down to the better free throw shooter![]()
