Get a fucking life
Now that I think on it, 90s was golden age of black film. Spike hadn't gone bat shit crazy yet, F Gary Gray and John Singleton coming up. Fuck, even Hype Williams made a movie in the 90s...
I chose Jason Lyrics. I was trying to decide between Jason Lyrics and Menace II Society.
What is a late nigga doin with a watch.
Yes Fresh is still one of my favorites til this day. That movie embodies so much in one film from a man-child's point of viewYou need to add Clockers and Fresh to the poll
New Jack City for me
terrible plot huh...for 1 it was a true story... 2 quiet as kept that's 1 of the better vietnam stories.. 3 the movie basically showed why they end up doin the heist and it was not a hollywood ending cause everything went to shit... that joint 1 of my fave movies.. hell that's 1 of those movies that if it would've got released today would've did some real numbers/better numbersdead presidents had some great scenes but a terrible plot.
lol i remember the hood rumor that they was gonna make juice part 2..that pac didn't die(u never seen his body hit the ground) that somehow he survived the fall, omar epps becomes a successful dj, pac goes on a killing spree in the industry looking for epps ..lol i remember people amping that rumor for a few yrs after juice came outWhen I look back at Juice, it is a film about a descent into madness. The same reason people enjoyed Breaking Bad and seeing the wimpy, pushover, powerless Walter White turn into this badass who eventually becomes a sociopath is the reason I liked Tupac's character in Juice. That gun lead to the death of a store clerk, Rademez, his best friend Rahiem, and critically injured Steel...all because of the power that piece of metal provides.
how does Belly not make the list??
I chose Menace.
What did you think about Mi Vida Loca?I think new jack was very real just more about drugs others were more about living in the hood.
No belly = failed list
I picked Boyz
Menace all day. New jack City was good as hell. But it was kind of unrealistic. Menace, South Central, and Boyz in The Hood were more real. And Menace was the best of the 3 if you ask me.
man sam jackson was in all those black movies in the 90'sGoddamn I never knew Oliver Stone produced South Central. Damn and I forgot Samuel L. Jackson was in Juice.

New Jack City for me
yo the trees be by the curb..nobody in LA got a tree on their lawn..its by the curb...Menace......followed by New Jack
Boys N The Hood had some funny/unrealistic parts that people didnt grasp.
Like the nigga raking up bags and bags of leaves in the front yard,....yet they had no
trees in their yard.
Where the fuck the leaves come from??

From this list I'd go with Boys n the hood over menace because Nia Long showed them titties.
Paid in full
Paid in full was filmed in 1999- 2000The thread is for 90's films. Paid in Full came out 2002, Belly should've been on the list It came out In 98.
Fresh was highly slept on.
That movie best introduced pit bull fighting that often occurs in the hood.
