you're not understanding man.... I was really fucked up...i don't even smoke weed and I thought I was high....i thought the sound on my tv was out of sync or some shit.... that's actually when I first started appreciated him as an actor...
I was going to say something but didn't feel like doing the research to bop dude over the head, but DJmarkxr7 said it right. Wahlberg may have got his start because of his name, but he stayed because he is actually talented.
Channing Tatum is going to stay because he followed the Will Smith model (something more Hollywood types should do) by producing/executive producing their films so they don't have to sit and wait for a call, but they can be both the whore AND the pimp at the same time. He and Steven Sodoberg producted Magic Mike with their own money ($7M budget) and that shit cleaned up in the theaters. Now, even though he can't act for shit, he has power because he now produces his movies.
Wahlberg hasn't been in many movies that were complete shit, at least when his perfprmance has been shit. Dude went from being Marky Mark to an actual actor - 4 Brothers was my shit, so was Italian Job.
Dude won't be in the running for an Oscar, but he makes good, solid, watchable movies that make $$$!
(of course, I'm excusing that M. Night Shyamalan mess "The Happening")
