How much Latin is required for law school?
I'm thinking of downloading one of those Latin Rossetta Stone CD's to learn Latin (I don't know a whole lot of it right now)
Is it really necessary to be proficient in the language?
none
ok
no

My friend went to a law school that wasn't in the top 20 and she realized that it woudn't help her get where she needed to go. She's at a top 20 school now. I plan on going to a top 10 business school b/c the top schools will open more doors for you.

i didnt read through all this shit.

but you applied right?
why would you apply then think about it when you got accepted? its......backwards ass

Hey man congratulations on your decision, I see all these folks are giving you all this wonderful advise. Law school is about two things, WRITING and REASERCH, do those well and you will be fine. As for attending or not attending a top ten school the current situation with the White House, and this administration, should clarify and make the question moot. Look at Monica Goodling, not sure on the spelling, she attended Pat Robertson School of Law, a 4th tier law school and look where she was employed. At 32 years old not only was she in a position most graduates would seriously consider committing great bodily injury to attain, she was the number 3 person at the Justice Department, evaluating, hiring, and firing other attorneys with three times her experience and knowledge, go figure on that one.

If there is one thing my undergraduate and graduate experience has taught me, it is not how high you go up or down in your chosen profession when it comes to salary or satisfaction, but how wide you can go.

Go to school and do as well as you can where ever you go, concentrate on that first, all the other stuff is a distant second, believe that!!!!!!!!

Good luck and God Bless.

^^^Thanks for the reply man. The main thing that worries me is the high student loan debt load I'd have to graduate with. As far as Monica Goodling, she must have attended Regent University in VA Beach, which was founded by Pat Robertson. I'd heard they have A LOT of graduates in the Bush Administration, even though it's quite easy to get into.

What a shame. In the old BGOL, people would have congratulated a bruh, and made a cogent comment if they had the basis to do so.

The poster doesn't lack intel, he just wanted to talk about his life with his friends. He apparently doesn't care that he knows them from a porn board.

Bruh, go to law school if you want to be a lawyer. Going to an elite firm gives you more opportunities, but not to the extent that it's not worth being a lawyer if you went to a lesser school. Most of the shit you are likely to do,and almost all of the fun shit is not affected by the school you went to. In my office, I went to a top 15, one of my colleagues went to one of the top 3, and the othwer went to a non-ABA school. We all do basically the same thing, and the most skilled of us three is guy from the non-ABA school. Yes, he has a strong rep in the community, judges call him for advice.

Talent wins out in the end, so don't sweat not going to HYS (Harvard, Yale or Stanford). DO sweat whether you want to be a lawyer. There are plenty of ways to make a nice living that don't require the aggravation of law school.

Peace.

And yeah, I'm still at work. But I am the boss, so it's cool.

I dont get it. You are asking questions on this board, the answers to which you should already know. I will do you a favor and answer your question. No do not go. You would make a terrible lawyer. The kind of lawyer that would advice his client to cop a guilty plea, even though the client was out of the country when the crime took place.

Yeah, that's right. I can't tell if you know that the board operated for years under a different host. Don't care, really. I do care that the collective maturity of the BGOL fam seems to be on a steep decline.
