In any situation when Law Enforcement tells you to do something, compliance is your only option. If you did nothing wrong, then you have nothing to worry about.

being pulled over for a ticket and having the officer behave with respect does not warrant self defense.

being ordered out of your car at two a.m. in your driveway by an armed man who does not identify himself as a policeman, then having said man shoot you after he's pointed his gun at your mother all the while you're on your stomach with your hands on your head DOES.
