are these cans worth the price? im thinkin bout coppin' thru colorware but before i push the button , wanna kno if anybody here cosigns

I tried them on at CES back in January. I don't like the loud bass affect myself.

Mario Armstrong has a great tech show on XM Radio. Its' good to hear and see brothas in the technology world. Mario is based out of D.C. I think or Maryland.

if they didnt have the dr. dre name attached to them, they would still go for a couple hundred +, so I can guarantee that they are high quality studio monitor headphones. Are they the best out, nope. But they are still good, and when you get them you wont feel like you got played. The bass is a tad bit exaggerated, but overall you should be pleased.

cool thanks for the quick responses fam...ill do a lil more research n see whats what.

any other cans that beat these at a cheaper price point and sound quality?

I HAVEN BROUGHT THEM, BUT I HAVE USED THEM A COUPLE OF TIMES....

I KNOW KWAME HAS THEM IN HIS STUDIO... HE USES THEM FOR THE VOCAL BOOTH.... THATS WHERE I TRIED THEM OUT AT...

I KNOW YOU DONT HEAR SHIT ONCE YOU HAVE THEM ON...

I SAT THERE WITH THEM ON MAKING A BEAT ON A ROLAND MC-909, THEY ARE VERY COMFORTABLE AS WELL...

SONICALLY I LOVE THEM....

There just studio monitor headphones with Dr. Dre logo's...............Research the Sony's for 100 dollars, the quality is exactly the same

I say if this is what you do AND YOU GET PAID DOING WHAT YOU DO..
then get them...

But if your an up-and-comer/fruityloops/gargage band producer... then get something cheaper.

They arent worth it unless you want to buy a name. These are good alternatives for half or 1/3 of the cost.

Denon AH D1001
mdr v6(im not a huge sony fan)
Grados sr60/sr80(they dont look as cool but have some of the best sound for the price range)
Ultrasone DJ1
ATH-M50
ATH ES7
ATH 700
Sennheiser hd595
If you on a serious budget Koss Portapros best 30-40 bucks ever spent on headphones

Depends on your budget do some research and everybody hears things differently, so personal exp matters. I only heard the beats in Best Buy hooked up to a Ipod touch. So That may have made a difference but unless you get a hook up 350 is to much. If you are using it for personal audio you might want to look into an amp if you plan on pushing some cans.

These are seriously not to monitor with. I have listened to them at Best Buy and they are quite bassy. Monitors should have a flat response.

I got sennheisers but I like my skullcandy better. I dont have an elaborate setup though, just reason on my mac

I've seen so many MF'ers wearing those shits all over NYC now.

When I was doing my headphone search last year, I thought about copping a pair. Opted for the Senheiser HDs80 PROs instead. One of the BEST 'phones I ever purchased.

The bass on the Dre's were a bit too much for me.
But they look sleek and are pretty comfortable.

Do a search for some 'phones threads on BGOL.
A few of us were posting on various makes and models.

I just checked out a pair of GRADO's 125si's (among others) at this place on 8th St. (NYC) called AUDIOGEARS. They sell japanese gadget stuff too. But phones are their thing. Japanese Dude there was really cool. And their set-up is better than J&R's.

These are the current ones I have... These have the best frequency response hands down, and they dont fatigue your ears, very natural sounding unlike those dre headphones.... you dont need that much exaggerated bass all the time...:smh:

When it comes to audio equipment you need to listen for yourself, you are gonna hear things diferently than someone else.

co-sign. I see wayyyyyy too many cats with these here in NY and I just wasn't that impressed when i demoed them when they first came out. Like others in this thread have said, the bass is a bit too heavy and you're gonna spend some time fucking with the EQ, even if it's on some listening to music on the iPod type shit. With that said, there are many alternatives and I wouldn't spend the $$$$ on just a name alone and alot of tech cats dont even fuck with Monster because of their ridiculously overpriced cables that are marked up a million percent over cheaper ones that do the same shit.

You can listen to them at Best Buy if you have one in your area....but to answer your question...:smh:
