Miami Marlins Outfielder Christian Yelich Takes Shot At Dolphins’ WR Kenny Stills For Kneeling During Anthem

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills was one of four Dolphins players to take a knee during the national anthem before his game on Sunday against the Seahawks.

During the game, Stills made a huge blunder when he dropped a wide open pass that would have resulted in a sure touchdown for the Dolphins.

Miami Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich saw the video of Stills’ drop and called it “karma” for the receiver kneeling during the anthem.

Christian Yelich explains Kenny Stills quip, disagrees with Dolphins kneeling during national anthem

Christian Yelich agrees with the message four Miami Dolphinsplayers tried to send Sunday by kneeling during the national anthem. But their platform? Not so much.

"It's something I feel very strongly about. The national anthem means a lot to me and means a lot to my family. It means a lot to a lot of people in this country," Yelich said. "I agree with [the handful of Dolphins'] message 100 percent. We need change. … Kneeling during the national anthem, I don't think that's the time or the place for it. I feel very strongly about it and it's something I'll never apologize for."

Yelich became a part of a much larger conversation Sunday evening, after a handful of Dolphins — Kenny Stills, Michael Thomas, Arian Foster and Jelani Jenkins — took a knee during the anthem prior to their season opener against the Seattle Seahawks. They followed the lead of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and joined others around the NFL who are protesting perceived police mistreatment of minorities.

After the Dolphins lost, Yelich retweeted a video of a wide-open Stills dropping a pass, while adding his own comment: "Too worried about kneeling during the anthem #karma." The post drew more than 8,000 retweets and nearly 10,000 likes within 24 hours.

Yelich, speaking clearly and sternly, expounded on his sentiment Monday. His younger brother, Cameron, is in the Marine Corps, and Yelich knows others — including a former classmate who was killed overseas — who have served in the military.

So to Yelich, the national anthem is not the right occasion, especially on the 15th anniversary of 9/11.

"I agree that there needs to be change. I actually agree with them on what they are protesting," Yelich said. "I disagree on how they're going about it, as do a lot of people in this country.

"I feel like on [Sept. 11], maybe we can all come together and put protests off for a week. Show support together as a country. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. But that's also what makes this country great. People have the right to express their opinion. They express theirs, I express mine."

funny enough I used to like Cricket. But time wasted is time wasted, and Baseball is a waste of my time right now.

Got the DVR set for the remainder of the series. Question is ... when setting the DVR do you program it for 3 - 4 hours, or just say fuck it and set it for 7 - 8 hours in case they go numerous extra innings again?

:roflmao3::cheers:
