Neil deGrasse Tyson's nephew releases diss track to B.o.B
In the wake of B.o.B’s Tuesday morning diss track, which hit back at Neil DeGrasse Tyson after he called out B.o.B’s flat Earth theory, Tyson’s nephew — whose rap name is simply Tyson — struck back with his own song.
“As an astrophysicist I don’t rap,” the elder Tyson tweeted, “but i know people who do. This one has by back.”
Tyson’s “Flat to Fact” is set to the beat from Drake’s “Back to Back,” which was released last year in response to Meek Mill’s comments that Drake doesn’t write his own raps, and opens with a defense of the StarTalk host, mentioning his mentoring Carl Sagan. Then the B.o.B diss comes: “I think it’s very clear that Bobby didn’t read enough/ And he’s believing all this conspiracy theory stuff,” he raps. It’s followed by unfavorable references to Donald Trump and Stacey Dash.
The astrophysicist was the subject of the rapper’s diss track “Flatline” that was released early Tuesday morning. B.o.B reiterated his stance that the Earth is flat, name-checking Tyson and ending the song with a speech he once gave. “Aye, Neil Tyson need to loosen up his vest/They’ll probably write that man one hell of a check,” the Atlanta MC raps in the opening verse.
