Winston Duke as M'Baku in Black Panther
Last year’s Avengers: Endgame featured a large ensemble of heroes, villains and everyone in between from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even more so than Avengers: Infinity War in 2018. But with so many players involved, needless to say that not everyone was going to be on camera for a significant amount of time. In the case of Winston Duke’s M’Baku, he could only be briefly seen in Endgame’s final battle.

As it turns out though, Winston Duke could have had much more screen time in Avengers: Endgame, but those extra scenes ended up on the cutting room floor. The actor explained:

The raw footage was just so long with everyone that my stuff didn’t make it in. I filmed so much fighting for it, and I was really bummed to not see any of it in the movie. I did so many fighting scenes in Endgame during that final battle… It was really cool. Marvel knows what they’re doing, and it all leads to the best product. So, I am happy; I was just very disappointed that nobody got to see all the stuff I was doing.

So while it sounds like M’Baku still would have only participated in Avengers: Endgame’s climactic conflict, which saw the Avengers and their allies clashing with Thanos and his army, at least we would have been treated to more shots of him in action. Not that it wasn’t already clear that M’Baku bravely faced down The Mad Titan’s forces, as he could be seen alongside the likes of Black Panther, Captain America, Hulk and more charging into battle.

Nevertheless, with so many moving pieces in Avengers: Endgame’s final battle, it’s understandable why M’Baku’s extra fight scenes were cut, which Winston Duke acknowledged when speaking with THR. While Endgame’s home release has come and gone, maybe there’ll be an opportunity down the line for those deleted M’Baku scenes to be shown to the public, like how the scene of Tony Stark seeing his daughter Morgan as a teenager within the Soul Stone was thrown onto Disney+.

Introduced in Black Panther, Winston Duke’s M’Baku, the leader of Wakanda’s Jabari Tribe, was initially shown in an antagonistic light, as he didn’t feel that T’Challa was worthy of leading the African nation and challenged him for the crown in ritual combat. T’Challa emerged victorious, though rather than kill him opponent, the king of Wakanda persuaded M’Baku to yield.

Later in the movie, M’Baku became an unexpected ally to T’Challa after he was overthrown by Killmonger. Granted, he was initially unwilling to help T’Challa take back his throne, but M’Baku and the rest of the Jabari eventually provided some much-needed assistance at the last minute against Killmonger’s forces. M’Baku returned in Avengers: Infinity War to fight alongside Wakanda’s warriors and the Avengers against Thanos’ hordes, and he was among the half of the universe that survived The Snap.

It hasn’t been announced yet if/when M’Baku will be seen in the MCU again, but one would imagine he’ll return in Black Panther 2. However, Winston Duke is game for M’Baku being the villain this time around, as his character is usually depicted in the comics.

Whether or not that happens, we here at CinemaBlend will keep you updated on all the biggest developments concerning Black Panther 2, which comes out May 6, 2022. Find out what other MCU movies are forthcoming with our handy guide.

Funny thing is 2019 thanos was right... He eliminated half the population...and in 5 yrs the worst thing that happen was hawk eye going beserk... Pretty much nobody else was starting trouble... No wars, no battles from outterspace, juss boring meetings, Thor getting fat... Starks had time to have a kid... Thanos 2014 was right ungrateful bastards...galaxy at peace and ya nigs mad and want to stir some s hit up

There was still crime though.

That was awesome man lol

I got excited because look at them

Had fucking everybody
Even potts got in the suit to fight
Fucking Valykrie riding into battle??

It seemed kind of irresponsible for Pepper to go into battle. What if she died as well? Then Morgan would be a wealthy as fuck orphan.

Nothing evil was happening across the world...thanos made everything peaceful for 5 yrs... They mention no problems.... Hulk drinking coffee in a public place and nobody freaks out...that means people were even acceptable to green people now... Did you see how happy those kids were? 5 yrs b4 if those kids wouldve saw him they wouldve ran in horror...thanos erased discrimination...thanos was right..ungrateful bastards

The Yakuza and Cartels were still active.

Oh they gonna RIOT in the streets, they need to release that movie during election season too..

Or better yet RIGHT after the election!

Maybe. However when Dennis Haysbert(the All State tv spokesman) played Senator, then President David Palmer on the show '24' alot of white fans were on Palmer's dick. This was pre-Obama.

Growing up as a Marvel reader, Falcon and Angel of the X-Men were the two heroes i disliked the most. They seemed so fucking useless. I thought Sam becoming Cap, since he's just a regular dude warranted a 'Dafuq?'as well. It grew on me.

What did each Infinity Stone do during the snap in Avengers: Infinity War?

Okay this is going to be a bit complicated, we’ll start with the first Stone we see in the movie:

The Power Stone

The Power Stone provide energy for all the stones for the entire snap, Not only that but it enhanced the power of the others which gave them even greater abilities than seen when they are alone. It was the one responsible for turning them into dust and allowing the other stones to do their job.

The Space Stone

To ensure the snap reaches across the entire universe. It made it where the effected could kill everyone across the space of the universe at once.

The Reality Stone

Like the Power Stone, it made it that the people killed would be turned into dust instead of being incinerated violently. Instead the Reality Stone peacefully turned them into dust.

The Soul Stone

Absorbed all the souls that were killed by the snap and stored them in the soul world.

The Time Stone

Temporarily allowed the snap to happen all at once at the same time for them to turn to dust. If it starts from Thanos and moves across space at the speed of light, even then it would take billions of years to reach the edges of the universe.

The Mind Stone

To amplify the desire/ willpower of the person using the stones. Made it to where all minds of those who were going to be erased converged and died at once.

Cap is a regular dude too....

Captain America is NOT regular dude. Where did you get this from?
He is a super solider after taking the serum? Do you know anything about Captain America? Did you watch his first movie or read the comics?
He has super strength, speed, healing factor, delayed aging and is a master tactician.

Black Widow also took a super serum and has the same powers.

You are wrong! Omg. How do you think he has lived this long?
Do you know when Captain America was first introduced?
How old are you? You should know this no matter how old you are.

WHAAAA? Go back, look at what you said, then look into the history of cap. Like a quick wiki.

Since when? That must be one of those numerous comic retcons. Back in the day it was peak human physicality on all fronts. That was it.

In the comics he can bench about 1,000lbs, if he were to run the 40 yard dash like the college players do for NFL testing, I think he'd be 3-something in the 40 yard dash, and he doesn't tire. A mistake they madein the MCU movies is they showed Cap panting. He's not suposed to do that.

Wait. This is the weirdest thing ever.
Do you know anything about Captain America?
It is ok to say you do not or made a mistake.
Even if you watched his movies you would never had said "he is a regular guy".
If you read the comics you definitely would never say that.

Or Moses Magnum. The black villain with seismic powers.
I hope they use him a villain in the X-Men reboot.
He was a fill in villain when he made an appearance in the X-Men and kicked the X-Men ass.
First time I've read a comic book with a black villain as the main protagonist.

He means Cap is a regular dude that was given the serum maybe. Nothing super special about him before apart from being a good human. Would Falcon get the serum is what I'd like to know going forward.

No. That is not what was meant. Nothing about Captain America would be considered a regular dude.
Whoever thinks so does not know enough about the character. Read what I wrote. He is a master tactician.
He is the leader of the Avengers for a reason. Iron Man is not the leader of the Avengers.

Considering this is the movies we are talking about I’d say that context was more important than the different comics for this thread hence the regular dude. In the first captain America movie he had heart. That’s about it before the serum.

I'm not following you. I never said he was a regular guy.
