Avengers: Endgame (2019) Discussion Thread (SPOILERS)

Uh, last time I checked, THIS IS A FORUM. We write about a lot of things on here from the most minuscule to the most important of topics, so F off with that noise. You know what this is. Stop acting like an idiot.
I don't need your advice on what to stick to. I'll consume whatever media I choose.
Are you a lesbian or a male feminist? This is the same tired talking point from someone who could care less about the source material. Typical strawman bullshit: "your frail male ego blah blah" Some people call bullshit when they see it and there's always a pooper scooper like you in the wings waiting to make yourself a nice big shit sandwich and yell at anyone not eating it and asking for seconds.

I enjoyed the movie despite the slight b.s. propaganda I saw in it but Disney has been running this play across all of its movies for a minute now and its getting a little tired.
If they are going to cherry pick source material and commit grand omissions then why even use it at all? Why not just make up something new altogether if they are so creative? You're okay with the changes because it favors your mindset. The second ir doesn't, you break out with the tissue and tampax and cry victim.
RiRi Williams is a weak and annoying character and Thor sales went to shit when Jane Foster became Thor, so.... SJW comics don't sell. They couldn't light a fire under Capt. Marvel comics with a blowtorch, and a damn movie. The fans have spoken.
And IRON MAN snapped, not just "a man" but the man who led the franchise and who's story arc has fueled the MCU. The team defeated Thanos. That is how it should have been. Scarlett Witch could damn near take Thanos, so FOH with that other mess. Its about the characters, not gender. That's my point. Read House of M.
Marvel has interesting female characters already but they are hell bent on an agenda that is not selling books. Disney doesn't give a shit about Marvel unless they are making Disney money. The books only serve as partial source material for them to sell movies.
The fans want a Black Widow movie. Explain that. Frail male egos can't take her kicking the shit out of spies? Then why do they want to see her doing it? Because unlike Captain Marvel, people actually LIKE Black Widow. The Scarlett Witch House Of M story would be great even though they've fucked it up with Tony's death. Everybody likes Rogue and The Dark Phoenix drops in June, so it ain't all of the female characters fans have a problem with; just the forced ones.

You mean make up something like Thanos killing half the universe for balance instead of killing everything to court death? Yet, the only differences yoh have a problem with is woman heroes appearing stronger than they are in the comics. Interesting...

Also fans don’t have a problem with the women in the movie as the 1.2 billion opening weekend says.

Just a few delicate dudes on the internet.

And you keep using the white supremacist term SJW after multiple people have told you it is. SJW primarily is used to describe people that try to help black interests.

The fact that you keep using it tells us you’re either one of them or you’re a sympathizer. So there’s nothing more to say than that.

Thanos Creator Jim Starlin Reveals Which '80s Sitcom Shaped the Mad Titan

Having co-created the character in the pages of 1973's The Invincible Iron Man #55, artist and writer Jim Starlin has been instrumental in defining Thanos, writing a good chunk of the Mad Titan's appearances. However, Starlin has now revealed that an unlikely source helped him shape the Mad Titan's relationship with Lady Death.

In an interview with Inverse, Starlin claimed the hit '80s sitcom Cheers influenced his creation, saying, "I wanted to give him a Sam and Diane relationship that was completely dysfunctional. Somebody like Thanos, that would be the only kind of relationship he would have. And you can't get more unattainable than death."

Originally, Starlin didn't plan to have Thanos be infatuated with Lady Death. An issue of Silver Surfer leading into The Infinity Gauntlet miniseries -- which served as the basis for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame -- had Thanos ramble about the universe being overpopulated, much like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But Starlin realized that going down that path would have put him in the proverbial corner.

Lady Death herself has yet to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Thanos currently appears in Avengers: Endgame. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film is in theaters now.

just google black lives matter sjw and see what comes up...
gtfo - Feminists & lgbtq control that platform - race, especially black is dead last on that slate
Every week a described SJW is throwing black men under the bus or in someway making us the face of sexual predations

I get it - you and Geechidan are exceedingly proud feminists - I'm happy for you two.

but please avoid throwing around straw horses and promoting kumbaya for the people promoting horse shit like "straight black men are white people of black culture..."

How about this, if you don't like it, keep your sensitive ass out the theater. Nobody is forcing you to watch it and your $12 won't be missed.

OK finally saw the movie. I wasn't feeling the fat Thor angle. After us seeing how Infinity War Thor was close to comic book Thor when it came to powers and drive this felt like a joke that fell flat. I did like seeing Thor using Stormbreaker and Mjolnir at the same time. And still Thanos was holding his own.....he's a beast in both movies. Was also disappointed with how under utilized Black Panther and crew were used in the movie.

this. they could have at least let him go toe to toe with thanos for a split second. It's like they refuse to let a black man look as powerful as Thor, Cap or Iron Man.

A nigga crying about a comic book movie calling someone else emotional.

"No... Hulk is the strongest.. waaaa..." lmao
:idea:how do I know that you are over homotional in this thread now?

You are attributing things to me - others may have posted, but I didn't

they GREATLY oversold this whole Captain Marvel is the key stuff...

and I am realizing more and more Brie just aint clicking as Marvel.

It isn't no woman hating cause ALL the OTHER women were OUTSTANDING (young and old)

she just doesn't WORK.

She was barely on screen...and when she was?

she didn't OWN it.

Scarlet Witch? She OWNED IT!

Hell Natalie Portman getting out of BED owned it!

So I agree about Capt Marvel. However I'm willing to cut them some slack cause all of this was filmed before the Captain Marvel movie was done. However so far CM was the weakest of the Marvel movies so far.

I didn't get teary eyed on this one but RJD death scene was spot on.

"I am Iron Man"

now that was solid acting and a helluva line delivery

Old Cap was earned , well earned

When a bunch of my little cousins nephews nieces godkids surprised me to see Avengers I?

when they show that FIRST circling shot of all the Avengers...yeah I got a little emotional.

I NEVER EVER thought I would live to see that.

And the fact all the kids around me remember me reading comics to them hell I TAUGHT them to read using comics?

And the joy.

Yeah I get it.

Same like people cry when they team wins a game

when not one person in the minors the scouts in college in the main office on the field or even a damn vendor knows who the f*ck they are

but they CRYING.

and RIOTING.

now THAT is a good debate.

I might not even agree on that because of the STRENGTH of the performances of the lead Skrull and Sam Jackson.

So I skipped a lot of the posts in here but I'll mention something that had my son losing it:

What did y'all think of the Ancient One handling the Hulk so easily ? Or as my 13 yr old says.....She bodied him in 2 seconds !!!
