i am feeling you on this. but that chick got a nice body (sans ass) and that stiff performance thing she has going kind of fits her character here.
right now rotten tomatoes has it at 117 critics recommend and 8 do not recommend.
that is high praise for a comic book movie.

i'm sure it'll probably be some stupid 'white perspective' bs like black civil rights protesters, stopping in mid march, to hurl racist epithets at the mutants or some shit.
Lets just say....the movie is up there with the dark knight.
There are continuity inconsistencies because of the wolverine movie's captured mutants, but its minor. I think you can honestly disregard the wolverine movie to an extent. Yet if you look at this as a reboot, I would even disregard the first X men movie altogether and cut ties to it.
It showed you how twisted a teleporter could be, how powerful certain mutants were.
I think what was good about this movie is the fact the trailer couldnt reveal what is great about the movie.

I'll be there with you! i rarely spend my hard earn money on movies these days. The last movie i saw was THOR because of the good reviews and it did not disappoint. i had no intentions of paying to see this movie...but because of the review i'm willing to take my chances.
I'll say it's much better then what I expected, and at least made the X-men franchise look good again. FX were good, and the plot actually wasn't bad. I will not say this is anywhere close to as good as The Dark Knight, but it is good enough to watch and not feel you wasted time and money. The guy that plays Professor X, forget the actors name, does a very good job in the movie..

That's the thing I was most interested in. They set up a story in "Wolverine" featured a couple familiar mutants and I thought I saw Nightcrawler in the trailers but he seemed to be a stranger in "X2". I'm hoping they either addressed this or this movie is being approached as a complete reboot like "Batman Begins" and the new Spiderman.
OK, count me in on having seen it. And like others have said: THIS MOVIE IS FIRE!!!!! It's is THE best of the X-Man series!
Props to Kevin Bacon for being the best villain in ANY X movie!!!

I'm thinking this movie is more a reboot than a prequel. In the other movies Mystique didn't appear to know Xavier or visa versa.

Hope they already halfway finished the next one because I can't wait for the sequel with Magneto! Haven't seen the movie but I'm sure it's based off Xavier and Magneto's competing philosophies. Some believe in Xavier's view of the world, some Magneto.
Exactly! Picture the differing styles and attitudes between MLK and Malcolm X and you pretty much have the dynamic.
That's the common comparison.
Xavier is definitely King while Magnus is an even more militant Shabazz: he's not talking self defense, he's talking about taking over.
