Their shareholders do...their employees don't.
The SH are dreaming of $105 a share if it goes down. Rupert's offer was hovering in the low $80 range.

bingo
this is the endgame...makes old ma bell seem almost quaint in comparison

Everybody is getting ready to go fiber to the house in the next few years. Wont be anything special after that. But thats where itnwasnalways heading.Patiently waiting for Google Fiber to come to my area in Charlotte.

AT&T is using this merger to acquire cable networks that it can use to control going onto a service like Slingtv or other IPTV. This is why you see NBC Universal and Comcast merger. You won't be able to just get Internet and skip TV offerings.
It could be considered anticompetitive and a monopoly in this light if they refuse to offer these channels to other.

Just don't know.I'm confused as hell, I had Verizon Fios since it's introduction and loved it 100mbs down 99.9% up time, then I recently switched to AT&T had it for a week and cancelled it, it was horrible they lied and told me fiber optic but then ran access thru my phone lines
I told them if not fiber to my box forget it, so I switched to TWC they gave me a deal since they only have 50mbs down in their ultimate internet package they said$44 per month no contract, I said hell yeah... unlimited to boot, hard to pass up decent high speed and no limits on bandwidth, uses existing coax cable connection but I did not have to get cable channels, now AT&T talking about buying TWC out...will my speed increase? will unlimited bandwidth still apply?, will my monthly charge still stay the same,,,,this some bullshit but maybe notJust don't know.
I guess we'll know on Monday.

AT&T really wants that monopoly.
DirecTV used to have the BEST customer service tho. That was their calling card. The minute AT&T took over it went to shit.
AT&T wants all the real estate and tech. They want control over every wire and signal coming into your home.

Gubment.Let's play a little game.......
If I know:
- who you are
- everything about you
- what you search for online i.e. what you are thinking and when
- what you did, social media
- who you talk to and how often
- how you respond after watching: news, movies, any show
- the content of all of your communication needs
- your location every sec
Who am I?

Gubment.
And long story short.... They (AT&T) have been lending them (big brother) use of their lines, satellites and resources for decades to surveil the masses and assist with investigations and intel on tax payers... Been bedfellows.

Muhfuckas "opted out" of abiding by the law.One last thing:

Yea, that was Time Warner Cable. The parent company Time Warner spun off AOL and Time Warner Cable a few months ago. Eventho they have the same name, Time Warner Cable is not affiliated with Time Warner anymore.
I think that they just merged with Charter.

I just dropped the unlimited data service. A gentleman on this board gave me 26% off my service about 8 years ago and I only use 6gb. So I now have the $80/mo plan with 26% off. I used to pay $110 with unlimited.Fuck AT&T. I have a grandfathered unlimited data plan and these asshats have been trying to get me to drop it for years.
Now whenever I call customer service I swear once they review my account they intentionally become shitty and rude.
Jokes on you niggas I'm going to keep the unlimited data forever and I'll never ever ever ever drop it! I have a Verizon phone line too![]()
$70 a month with unlimited data and the old 300 minutes with rollover.
I also have an old corporate discount they haven't removed.
How much are the new "unlimited" plans? I have never worried about data usage my entire cellular history.
As stated earlier.....Time Warner Cable and Time Warner are not affiliated. Two different things. Time Warner Cable was bought by Charter, which will change its name to Spectrum. If you currently have hsd from TWC, the only thing that will change as far as Ive been told is your speed will INCREASE (depending on your current speed, up to 200MBP down without a price increase). Its already like that in certain markets. That was the whole point of going full digital. So this whole AT@T business doesn't have shit to do with TIME WARNER CABLE.I'm confused as hell, I had Verizon Fios since it's introduction and loved it 100mbs down 99.9% up time, then I recently switched to AT&T had it for a week and cancelled it, it was horrible they lied and told me fiber optic but then ran access thru my phone lines

300 minutes? How long have you had that plan
I haven't had a minute plan in ages

TWATTT

Comcast/NBC
Verizon/Hearst
AT&T/DirecTv/Time Warner
Apple better buy Netflix in the next 18 months. It was reported that they had preliminary discussions with Time Warner, but that was early stage talks and nothing substantive came out of it.
Good for business and investors doesn't always mean good for consumers and competition.I heard that after their deal, Comcast/NBC's stock went up 150% over 5 years. So it worked out for them.
Good for business and investors doesn't always mean good for consumers and competition.
M&A will be greater than usual in the next 36 months.

Good for you. Props. It's a great time to be putting your money into the market. But remember, we are all consumers. We're talking media and the pipelines they run on. This will affect everyone. The trickle down will be massive and reshape business, media, and the culture for a long, long time.I happen to be an investor and not a consumer.![]()
