Assassin's Creed X Box 360 /PS3 Video Review

I would have gotten it, if my Xbox didnt get the ring of death.

Needs to be fucking with that PS3 homie. I fucking traded my 360 long before the red ring of death got to my shit. Last year, I traded that fuck up hardware and got about $275.00 credit (only paid $300) and ante up my shit with the PS3. I had my PS3 for 8 months and have no compliants about the muscle under the black system. Fuck the X and get yourself that 3:yes:

As dope as PS3 is, imma stick it out with my 360 red ring and all(my second 360 is starting to freeze up a little..I see it coming). PS3 doenst have any titles yet worth my interest. Well except for that Drake game. maybe next year.....

How can you say FUCK PS3 when CALL of Duty 4 looks better on the PS3, richer detail and textures...better effects even...

Who told you that? 2 different side by side comparison. They both look the same, one is lighter the other is darker. If they took the PS3 and 360 label off the screen 99% of you guys would not be able to tell the deference.

FUCK PS3:lol:This year:lol:

COD4 should be a non issue

its been proven to be as identical as possible

the ps3 handles dark colors better the 360 handles bright colors better that is it

i played both and they are the same, i stuck with the 360 one because over the weekend the infinity servers on the ps3 side were having problems so during that time i played the 360 version, invested my time, gained rank, beat the game, and got a bunch of people to play with that i met

now xbox 360 servers are having issues :(

either way only the pure essence of a fanboy who cuddles his masters nuts would start saying that one is X times better

there is no argument here, dont create one

back to assasins creed:

as per gamefly mine ships out tomorrow

ok again

thank god for rentals

i think we should band together the best of bgol gamers and review for ourselves and publish it on the net

cause these reports are too conflicting

"ps3 sucks, ps3 kicks 360 ass, 360 has bad framerate, ps3 has bad framerate, the game looks great on both, both look like shit, the 360 makes a good chamomile tea, the ps3 sucks at making tea but makes a mean columbian supremo coffee"

PS3 Vs. Xbox 360 (Assassin's Creed Round)
CVG has hammered the gavel on multi-platform Assassin's Creed (why don't we get a gavel?). So which version does CVG say we should pick up?

Under a microscope the PS3 version does look a bit sharper when the two versions are running side by side.

OK, so even though the two versions are close, that means graphics go to the PS3. Err...it's never that simple, is it?

The Xbox 360 version makes up for this with (arguably) better controls and we're also told it runs two or three frames faster than the PS3 cousin, though no-one's going to notice that.

So which version do we buy?? They both sound so...ultimately similar. How do we choose between two products that are so...equal?

Ubisoft...did a good job. Flamewarthower...running out of fuel. Fanboys...becoming wildly apathetic. The world...running our of ellipsis...

Yeah I was going to comment on that. One site says the PS3 has a better framerate while most others say the 360 does. One site says the 360 looks better while others say the PS3 does. I think its just peoples console preference making them "see" differences that aren't really there. If its not widely being acknowledged that one systems version is better then the others then just go with the one you enjoy using the most. That the stance I'm going to take.

Reviewers Not Sure If Assassin’s Creed Is Good

Some give it around a 7 and some give it a low to mid 9, so who’s telling the truth and actually played through the entire game?
Well IGN’s incredibly negative review has been edited a few times already but thanks to the guys over at NeoGaf the most scathing of comments in the original review were saved and they are:
Hilary: “I would go on to say that Assassins Creed would be the top 5 most dissapointing games of all time.” and “…this is a rental, there is no need to go back to play it more than once…in fact, you probably won’t even finish it once.”
Wow, that’s freaking harsh.
IGN: 7.5
While Gamespy and 1up feel pretty much the same, Gamespot and Gametrailers seem to have lifted a different copy of the same exact game as their reviews are utterly glowing.
So watch the as always amazing GT review and continue reading.

Gametrailers: 9.1
So thanks to the extremely articulate and well constructed Gametrailers review how can anyone possibly think that Assassin’s Creed is anything but amazing and nowhere near the worst of the worst? Are IGN and company smoking large amounts of crack?
I’ll post impressions when I get but if you get it first, please feel free to post your opinions here and let the truth out.
For reference here is the daily updated average.

My 360 is modded so I already have A.C. and Mass Effect. Im not heavy on RPG's but the Mass Effect is proving to be the more entertaining of the two. You can't go wrong either way but right now my gaming time is divided between Mass Effect and COD4 multiplayer. Might go back to Assassin's Creed later on sometime.

Penny Arcade doles out criticism of Assassin's Creed criticism

Plenty of review outlets have given Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed extremely favorable scores -- GamePro, GameSpot, GameTrailers, and Game Informer all scored the game at 90/100 or better. However, certain outlets found the game less appealing, and judged it as a 70/100 -- 1UP, EuroGamer, and GameSpy -- and Penny-Arcade's Gabe isn't buying what they're selling.

"If Assassin's Creed actually was a 7.0 game I'd tell you," said Gabe in Wednesday's news post. "I also want you to know that when I tell you it's fucking incredible I'm not bullshitting you because we're running ads for the game." He then goes on to comment specifically on the complaints he's read in various reviews:

* Bad ending: "It was an extremely satisfying ending to this chapter of the game. Chapter is the important word here. This is a huge story, probably a trilogy at least. The game does end with a cliff hanger and it certainly sets up the rest of the arc but that's how the first part of any multi part story ends. If Star Wars had ended with Luke jumping into his X-Wing to go take on the Death Star that would be a shitty fucking ending. It doesn't though, Luke destroys it and then we get hints about what's in store for our heroes. I'm telling you right now Altair destroys his Death Star."
* Repetitive, boring: "Imagine what an open ended sandbox title must look like to a reviewer especially right now. How many games do they have piling up on their desks? A game like Assassin's Creed isn't meant to be played under a deadline. You shouldn't be trying to beat it as fast as you can so you can move on to Mass Effect or Mario Galaxy. As soon as I gave myself a deadline all of a sudden I understood all their complaints. It was like a fucking Escher painting. I had put myself in their shoes and suddenly the landscape flipped and I could see games from their perspective. In the end I wasn't angry at them for their bad reviews. I actually just felt bad for them."

If you picked up Assassin's Creed, are you enjoying it like Gabe (and we) are, or do you think the 7s are deserved? And please, just because the artist likened Altair and Assassin's Creed to Star Wars doesn't mean we need to start comparing him to a Jedi -- so don't.

PS3 and 360 owners, anyone ever notice that the reviewers always have their settings to some really bright settings?

my 360 and ps3 games are much darker than theirs almost all the time on both systems

WARNING! Spoilers in this clip

Slight warning: OK, so most of you have probably found out what the game's "twist" is, but if you haven't, the start of this is a little spoiler-ish. Don't care? Let's proceed, then! Both versions look great, both seem to chug along just fine, and as always, we're not just squinting, we're squinting hard.

Assassin's Creed For PS3 Seeing Lock Ups, "White Screen Of Death"

Irate PlayStation 3 owners are reporting a host of technical problems with their copies of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, writing of frame rate problems, screen tearing, geometry clipping and game-stopping lock ups on the official game forums. Most reports from those affected by "white screens of death" are writing that they're using firmware 2.0, specifying so at the request of official Ubisoft forum managers. In addition to a thread dedicated to the PS3's freezing issues, a consolidated bug/glitch thread is currently receiving plenty of responses. Similar postings have appeared on the official PlayStation 3 and Gamespot forums, with a few Kotaku tipsters warning us of the game's graphical and loading glitches. We're waiting to hear further information from Ubisoft, but would urge caution and research for potential Assassin's Creed buyers.

Exactly, don’t waste your money on this game. Just like ign said “it’s repetitive"
I purchase the game and play it for about 2hrs and place my NBA 2k8 back in.

NBA 2k8 has my full attention also I don't even feel like playing any other games. But this of course will change when Mass Effect hits
