I think it’s the ‘curve on the side’ that started to get a crisp line was the mid 90’s. Theo shit was always fucked up though. That’s not a good reference. We always clowned that bama’s fucked up haircuts.

Whats are you talking about?Damn so I guess some nigs needed the media to start liking big booties than naturally liking fat asses in real life
Yeah I was a kid in the 80's. That's why i was wondering when edge ups came about. I still think the "norm" was probably mid 90's because a few had it here and there but it's a must for all black men's haircuts since the 90'sYou must be too young to remember blowout afros with sharp lines in the 80's.
There were many barbers who did it, but people from every borough in NYC used to go to a place called Jerry's Den in Harlem to get the crispest blowout done.
Nah Brother. I'm telling you it was normal since the 80's. The fro with the nice shape up and long, sharp sideburns was the norm in the mid 80's. (Unless you was just a dusty nigga. LOL)Yeah I was a kid in the 80's. That's why i was wondering when edge ups came about. It’s funny you mentioned the back of the neck. Lol.The issue then was the back of the neck - round or square or taper?
you asking a question cause you saw a tv show with a nig with a fucked up cut like he represented the streets... If you saw a prince video would you ask when did nigs stop wearing ass out pants and high heels? Tv pretty much has never been a real representation of black america...there are far and few things on the idiot box that share the same thing in real lifeWhats are you talking about?
I was born in the 50s. I grew up in Lawrenceville, Ga. Clyde Wilburn was one of the barbers in that small (at the time) town. He used to line us up. First week, we'd get a haircut. Next weekend, we'd just get a line. We called it a lineup or a "tape!" That was in the 60s around 1965 or 1966. If a nigga wanted to look "unkempt," he would just not visit the barber every weekend.Watching the Cosby show right now and young theo hairline is hilarious. The earliest I can remember is the mid 90's I remember Nas getting sharp line ups around illmatic. Is that when it started? And do yall ever think it will go back to the "obama" natural haircut without a line again?![]()
