Are there any converting programs that eradicate the Cinavia crap on PS3/4?

Cinavia got me again. Sitting here...in this chair...watching Grown Ups 2...ooooh baby, and then the sound went A-Way. I wanna know...How can I get rid of this shit. Cuz I'm wasting my time finding shit online...downloading til my hard drive's full

Nah for real. A handful of movies I have that get me with that Cinavia crap that makes the sound go out. With a message at the bottom:

Good evening. Do not attempt to adjust your PS3, there is nothing wrong. We have taken control as to bring you this special show. Now you can watch this bootleg shit if you wanna but there will be no more sound for that ass.


So if I convert a file with Handbrake (which is great for converting files for use on the PS3 BTW. THanks, fam) will it delete that Cinavia mess?

Cinavia is a pretty damn potent copyright protection scheme. Embedding hidden protection activating audio signals inside the main audio track which means you can't extract that shit without messing up the audio of the movie. Your best bet is just to get a Boxee box or some device like that that which doesn't play blue ray movies and use that to play your video files. By official policy every blue ray device has that tech built in. I've heard of a program which can convert blue ray movies into video files without Cinavia on it, but it was an odd way of doing it which basically converted the video to dvd format.

Program was called DVD-Fab I believe.

There are way better options to playing files on your TV wine. Go to amazon and type in android mini pc. Very cheap, you can even install xbmc on the device and stream that movie your trying to play. Fuck trying to play anything on PS

No. It's built in the hardware/firmware unless you do so real handywork with the audio in something like Audacity.

I'm gonna either do this or watch it by plugging the USB into my Samsung, the only thing is I get no surround sound. Samsung Smart TVs, great picture, but the sound is garbage (likely because everybody has surround sound)

that's strange. do you use audio out rca from TV into your reciever/amp?

usb port is the best thing to happen to TV. I've got a passport with go gas of shit on it, just plug and play. plus I can carry that shit to friends crib. no more dvs

MKV2VOB can get around SOME instances of Cinavia but not all. In the end I had to throw in the towel on using PS3 to play movies and invested in a homegrown mediacenter/server setup. Sony fucked up and made a dope ass entertainment system, and then said "oops we make money off movies too..." and thats when all the firmware updates came and made it unusable for offline movies
