The thing is Kobe never evolved his game. It's similar to the discussion of Allen Iverson not elevating his game as well and not being able to take it to the next level. I still think Jordan is the greastest basketball player I've ever seen.

Unlike Kobe and A.I. who mainly played to their strengths in natural talent and ability; Jordan evolved into an all around player-i.e. defensive player of the year, first-team all defense, scoring titles, MVP's, the list goes on... Additionally, Jordan is probably the greatest 2 guard to play in the triangle offense, because of his abitlity to develop a formidable post game. Whenever a game was tight Jordan was always able to post up and shoot his patented fadeaway jumper.

In tight situations Kobe doesn't compare to Jordan. Kobe still hasn't developed his game to a level where he can dominate the game while controling the tempo of the game. In tight situations Kobe 9 out 10 times is chucking the ball or making a erratic decision. Jordan on the other hand, dominated and controled the tempo of the game because of his fadeaway jumber, and because he played great defense in crunch time-i.e.Jordan stealing the ball from Malone in the 6th game of the finals in 1998.

LeBron is the most impressive ball player in the new millenium, and if he is able to win the championship this year, we will all be witnesses to the comming of the crowned King of Basketball. Unlike A.I. and Kobe, LeBron is able to leaverage his raw skill and ability with high basketball IQ. LeBron has what Jordan and all the greats in Basketbal have, and that is the abiltiy to both dominate the game with raw talent and ability and to have the experience and B-ball IQ to control the tempo of the game.

i don't know if ray allen would kill reggie miller, and i don't want to derail this thread, but i would take
ray allen all day every day over reggie miller.

reggie miller had a handful of years together with that squad in the video to build on before they reached the ECF.

ray allen was on the milwaukee bucks which was a revolving door in the frontcourt and PG positions, and also went 7 games in the ECF (eventually losing to the 76ers). in the 6.5 seasons ray allen spent in milwaukee, he never had a returning squad the following season (or even 4 of 5 returning starters).
